Everyone was gathered at the auditorium, where the songs and play would be at. The people performing songs were all of the boys, a few other students, and even Professor Im would perform at the end. Then the students would take a break and use the restroom and eat something, which would give time for the setting and the actors/actresses to get ready for the play.
The boys were backstage, and were very nervous.
"What if they don't like it?" Hoseok said. "Not many people talk about their mothers."
"That's what makes your song exciting and great, Hobi." I told him.
"Definitely, and plus, it's only you performing it! You don't have to worry about screw-ups!" Yoongi cut in.
"I'm, he's performing with us, too." Namjoon said with a smirk. "Of course he has to worry about screw-ups."
"Oh yeah." Yoongi Said, freezing with his eyes wide. "I forgot about that." We all laughed.
"I'm really worried about my voice cracking," Jimin told everyone. "Especially on the really high note."
I smiled. "You'll do fine, Chimmy. You always do."
"Yeah," Said Jin with a smile. "The person you all have to worry about is me. I wrote the song seriously in two days because I had to back out of rapping."
Everyone looked at each other and nodded. Jin ended up taking offense of that and exploded like he usually did when we teased him.
"Are you serious? No comforting words? I'd appreciate at least a 'Good luck, Jin!'"
Yoongi patted his shoulder with a plain face, teasing him further. "Good luck, Jin." Jin's eyes went wide and he slapped Yoongi's hand away from him.
"What the hell, man!" Yoongi said, rubbing his hand.
"It's not special now! I had to tell you to say good luck! Now I feel even more idiotic!"
We burst out laughing as they continued to argue, trying not to act nervous about my own performance.
Jungkook stopped laughing and looked around. "Guys... I don't see him." The others stopped laughing and looked around, making me confused.
"What are you all talking about?"
"Well... don't tell anyone," Said Jimin, "but all of us boys have a special performance at the end... and we have one other person in it to surprise you. But eh... we can't find him."
"You guys wrote a song? Without me knowing?" I said, wide-eyes. "How'd I not know about this?"
"Well, before you and Taehyung distanced yourselves, you guys hung out all the time," Jungkook told me, "Professor Monoban came up to us one day while you were hanging out with him, and asked us to perform a special stage thing."
"We said yes, of course," Said Hoseok with a huge smile.
"We thought is would be a huge surprise for you," Jin added, "but I guess it's ruined now."
I was surprised. "Wow, you guys. Whose the other person?"
"You'll know him when you see him." Jin winked.
"Don't do that," Jungkook said, causing us to giggle, "Only me, Taehyung, Jimin, and Hoseok can do that."
"Yo!" Shouted Namjoon.
"And Namjoon." Yoongi pointed, "Also me."
"So everyone but me?" Jin said angrily.
Jungkook looked up with his finger under his nose."Pretty much." He said with his bunny smile, causing everyone to break out in laughter. Jin pouted.
"You wink fine, Jin." I said after I calmed down.
"Does everyone really do it better than me, though?" He asked.
"No," I answered, "You're not known as Worldwide Handsome for nothing."
"Really?" Jungkook said with his eyes wide. "I thought he made that up."
"He did," Yoongi said, "Everyone just decided to go with it."
"Oh." Jungkook replied.
"Probably felt bad for him, honestly." Namjoon added.
"Seriously?!" Jin said, his face turning red.
These boys, I swear.
It was just a few minutes until the first performance, which would be Hoseok's. He was nearly shaking.
"You got this, man," Jimin told him. "We're all confident that you'll do good."
"Yeah." The rest added.
"You're only being judged by the world." Yoongi said. I punched his shoulder. "I mean good luck, fam!" He said quickly afterword. "You can do it! I believe in you!"
"Maybe my stage name is a bit weird. Is it weird?" He asked us.
"Of course not!" I said, "it's very impressive, especially the meaning behind it. J-Hope is perfect, Hobi."
Hoseok looked at his friends and smiled as the announcer began the speech.
"Before we begin," he said the voice booming throughout the auditorium, silencing the crowd, "I'd like to comment that we have some very talented students here at Chi-Gyu University. Many of them has decided to take part in the arts, so we even have judges from three different entertainment companies! JLP, YJ, and BigStar Entertainment. Everyone welcome them!" The crowd roared as three people stood up at the front of the crowd.
We all looked at each other.
"Holy shit." Murmured Namjoon.
"Fuck." Hoseok said shakily.
"This doesn't change anything," I whispered.
"Everyone!" The announcer said. "May we begin the event with a little reminder, on how important all our mothers are... this is, MAMA, by J-Hope."
Everyone clapped as he sang. We all smiled widely at his high spirits when he got real into his own song. He was jumping around, and hypened the crowd. Jin was jamming to it hard. You could tell it was his favorite song. We glanced at the small T.V. backstage. He seemed really happy.
He looked like a real celebrity and oozed "K-pop idol- worthy"."He has to get chosen," Jin said determined. "If not I'm suing all three companies!"
We were all surprised at his childish behavior, but we didn't complain about it. We jammed out with him and even nearly shouted out "hey Mama!" When the verse came. He was definitely putting in everything. We all felt the vibes and I even felt it through my chest, like a bloom of a flower.
When the song ended, we all clapped loudly behind the curtains along with the excited crowd. Everyone loved it, the company judges had smiles on their faces.
Hoseok returned backstage, and we congratulated him loudly. His smile was huge.
"I did it!" He said, pumping his first in the air, and breathing heavily from the enthusiasm he had on stage. "They loved it!"
