"Well.. ." Started Professor Im, shocked. "That was truly amazing, sir."
Taehyung sat there, looking at Im with a bored look.
Im smiled. "You're fades were very advanced. This is the perfect example of how you were supposed to be like at the end of this elective season. I'm very impressed."
Suddenly white lights began flashing around the stage room, and Im looked up in annoyance.
Still nothing from Taehyung. The place was awkwardly silent, and my nerves were getting to me about nobody wanting to intercept it.
"Well," Said Im, clearly struggling as much as I was, "ten minute break everyone, get some water, practice your fades, and have a bit of social time while I try to fix our technical issue.
When Im left, and everyone had gotten up and left the room, all except Taehyung. I made my way toward him, who was leaning on the stage now. He looked in my direction when he heard my footsteps.

"Hey, mean bean." I said.
". . ."
Like I expected an answer. I leaned on the stage next to him, and peered into his cold, dark gaze.
I sighed. "I was angry because she really was nervous. Me and my friends saw her nearly trip just trying to head your way. The way you rejected her had made it even worse. She's probably traumatized now."
A surprised expression came upon his face, and that was enough to confirm my suspicion.
"Yes, I know the song was about a few days ago. And I know you may not be ready to discuss everything else that was included in the song, or you probably don't ever want to talk about it anyway. I'm just here to answer your question."
His eyes revealed no emotion, I tried to read his face, but it was blank. Not even the slightest anger could be read, nor relief.
"And don't apologize about it." I said as I began to leave. "I feel sorry for you honestly. I'm not afraid of you like everyone else so don't try anything. My sympathy for you is up to 100% because of the fact that I can tell you're struggling."
I stopped and turned to face him, my hand inches away from the doorknob.
He looked at me, and I finally saw it.
He was trying to hide a little tear in the corner of his left eye. It wasn't heavy enough to drop yet. My eyes softened as he looked at me, pain written all over his face.
He took a deep breath and with a calm, quiet voice he said:

"I don't need your pity."
I just slightly smiled, glad he finally spoke. Satisfied with myself, I left him alone to be sad.

The repair on the stage lights took about an hour to fix, so by the time it got to me, the last one, it was lunchtime.
We would resume class once it ended. But in the meantime I made my way towards the cafeteria to tell my friends some of the newest updates on mean bean.
"Geez, Mei, I didn't know that you were the type to be able to break people." Said Yoongi.
"You do realize she pretty much beats on you every ten minutes, right?" Asked Namjoon, smiling slightly.
"Yes, thank you for reminding me, Joonjie." He replied as we all smirked at his reaction.
"Do you guys have any information on him that I can get so that I can try and figure everything out?" I asked them. They all froze.
"Say what?" Asked Jimin, looking at the guys seeming in panic, "why would you try to find out what happened?"
"What's with your worried expressions, it's just a little prying is all." I told them suspiciously.
"We already told you what happened, he acted cold and betrayed his friends." Said Jungkook.
I raised an eyebrow. "Yes, but who were his friends, how did he betray them, what was the reasons for it, and why had it made such a huge difference on his life?"
"Wow, you put a lot of emphasis on the WWWH questions." Said Hoseok.
I looked at Jimin, and he had just shrugged and looked at me while laying his head down on the table.

"Mei, just trust me when I say that you don't want to know about his past." He said.
"But Jimin, what exactly am I supposed to do? Let him remain lonely and let him suffer?"
"He said he didn't need your pity, I think it's best to just drop the subject." Said Jin, finally cutting in.
We all nodded, surprised by his unkind tone.
"I heard that there was a party this Saturday," Said Hoseok, "I think it'd be cool to go with you guys. Who's in?"
"I'm in." Said Jimin.
"I'll go," I said.
"Will there be drinks?" Asked Yoongi.
After a bit of laughter, Hoseok Said, "Of course bro, it's University, what party doesn't have drinks?"
"I'll go." Said both Jungkook and Jin.
"Alright. Everyone meet at the center fountain in the front at 8:00 p.m., on Saturday, I'll take you guys from there." Answered Hoseok.

"Welcome back, students!" Cheered Professor Im. "Now that we're all filled up let's get back to practicing our fades better. The last one is Miss Min Mei."
I climbed the few steps onto the stage, feeling extremely nervous. I had never sung in front of people like this. I always did it when I was alone or when nobody was paying attention. The fact that the professor teaching me was once a beloved icon in South Korea didn't exactly help my situation, either.
My nerves were killing me. I had thought about withdrawing from the elective right then in there, but something made me stop from saying anything.
In the back of the room, Taehyung held up his head for once, and had stared at me.

My nerves were gone just like that. His expression looked soft for once, and though it wasn't a smile, it was better than the usual death glare from him. The lights made his skin glow and his eyes ensured safety once again.
I took a deep breath, and finally, I let out the voice trapped inside of me.
