" I don't know anymore, it's like you're here but you're not here. I just can't explain it." You laugh, mocking yourself as you took another shot of tequila, the burning flames trailing down your throat. Even the hottest of spirits could not drown away what you had felt all this while.
Kise stared at you solemnly as he watched. His hand was just centimeters from yours, just about to grab yours to stop you from drowning your sorrows, but yet he stopped just then.
He knew you were right. In his darkest hours, you were the one who was there for him, supporting him with every step of the way that he went, encouraging him to push on. And yet, you were never really in his heart. Perhaps only he knew for himself, that you were a shadow of her and that he just wanted to use you to feel like she was still there with him.
Even though he modelled and played basketball, he still felt this emptiness in him, something that nothing could replace. Something that he had lost so long ago and could not regain even through his favourite hobbies.
And he said that you were crazy, because he didn't think that you had known what he had done.
When he had said that he would be with you forever, he actually meant it for her, but you were just there in place of her.
That was what you were to him.
A replacement.
" I'm done. I'm fucking done with all your shit." you curse, downing another shot before smiling as the alcohol burnt through you like hellfire.
That was what you felt like. It was hell, knowing that every single minute, every single second, as he watched you, he was in fact watching someone else through you. Even though you knew that he still loved her to death, it just wasn't fair for you. You were always there for him, and yet somehow he had never seen anything that you had done for him.
But then again, love was never fair.
You slammed the glass cup onto the table and then stood up, the wave hitting you but you continued to move on, your legs ploughing forward, onwards, each step away from him.
You had loved him for so long, and yet, maybe it just wasn't enough.
Kise stood, but yet he did not move, only watching you move and drift further and further away from him. He did not know whether he should have chased after you, and hug you from the back to tell you how sorry he was or how much he loved you, against his own conscience but he continued to stand there for the longest of times, while he watched your shadow, your hand wiping away every single tear that ran down your cheeks.

"Kise-kun!" you laugh as you smack his head with your heavy yellow plastic file filled with enough homework to last you a century of dinosaurs.
Kise spun around, a warm smile on his face as he ruffled your hair and then kissed you slightly on the forehead. He could see it. The forced smile that broke you piece by piece, the love that shackled and chained you, the cuts deep in your flesh and skin.
You nervously smile, your thoughts constantly on your makeup. You were afraid that he could see through the scars that you wore, the mockery of love seared into your cheeks or the sarcastic laughter of hurt branded into your eyes. You were afraid that he would see through you, and leave you. You were satisfied with being a shadow, the replacement product that would slowly help him get back on track and be the bright and lively person he was before.
And then, you would leave his side, having been satisfied with your life.
Because at least, for once, you had loved a man deeply.
Even though the both of you were bound together by your own needs and wants, there were cracks with raw wounds untouched and never treated.
This was love like ice, and once it melted, all was gone forever.
