Chapter 6 | HYUNSIK

"Hey, have you asked Sera if she's coming with you to the getaway trip?" Eunkwang asks me.

I sigh. My boss is rewarding me a package trip for two to Jeju for two nights and three days since I sold the most properties last month. "Nope."

His shoulders fall. "Oh, come on. Just ask your wife! You both need it."

I sigh again, massaging my temple. I think about Sera all the freaking time today. I think about our kiss, how beautiful and sad it is at the same time. I think about her body and mine. I think about how she cried. I think about the sad look in her eyes when she asked me to sing her to sleep. And the confusion in them when I kissed her cheek good bye.

She drives me insane.

Because.

Because does she want to divorce or not?

"Ugh. I'll try." I say.

Eunkwang just pats me heavily on my shoulder. I focus on work for the rest of the day.

I can't figure out what's going on in that bright mind of hers.

And then by lunch time, I see a familiar person by the cafeteria. Still tall and gorgeous.

Hyeri smiles at me and waves me over. "Oppa!" She says. "Hi!"

"Hey, what are you... doing here?" I ask.

"Look at your face. You look like you don't want to see me. I'm hurt."

"Well, that's because I don't think you should be here." I say, raising an eyebrow.

"Because I'm married, or because you're married?"

"Both." I reply.

She smiles brightly and hands me a paperbag. "I just wanted to give this. It's some souvenirs from Japan and food. It's been a while, oppa."

"Yeah."

"Sera went to my gathering the other day. She looks great." She says.

"Yeah, she mentioned."

"How are you guys?"

That shitty question everyone asks. "We're good." I reply.

"Funny. That's what she said too." Hyeri says grinning. "But I think it's not true."

"Hyeri..."

She touches my arm lightly and smiles. "I'm here 'til the end of the month, oppa. Just call, if you need someone to talk to."

My brows furrow. "Like your husband would be okay with that."

She chuckles. "He doesn't have to know." She pulls away and smiles. "See you around!"

What. The. Hell.

I don't know why I dated her. I really can't remember why.

I go to Eunkwang and we grab our lunch. "Was that Hyeri?" He asks.

"Yeah."

"Ooh, she still comes to see you even when she's married?"

I shrug.
