"You guys go to Pop's, i'll go to his trailer." Betty ordered hastily. When she saw no movement, she continued, "You really think I am going to walk there? I ordered a taxi."
"Fine," Veronica gave in, "be careful."
"Of course. Always."
And with that, Archie and Veronica drove off in Archie's truck. Veronica sat comfortably in Archie's passenger seat that was still stained a crimson red.
Archie started the truck and veered off his comfortable suburb in silence. Veronica sighed, "She knows he isn't gonna be at Pop's."
"Yeah." Archie released in a short breath, keeping his eyes on the road, "I never saw her call a cab, either."
"That's because," Veronica closed her eyes and pinched her nose in exasperation, "She never called one."
Betty knew Jughead would not be at Pop's. She didn't know why she knew this, but it was a feeling. She felt it all over her body. Even in her sore legs, demanding she keep walking in his direction, no matter how much her bruised calves screamed stop.
Who needs legs when you have a Jughead, she thought solemnly.
Oh, yeah, and she also never called a cab. She really should, though. She patted around her jeans. No wallet. No money. No phone.
Oh, well, she thought, walking- no, limping- will have to do for now.
And with that, Betty made her way- slowly but surely- to Jughead's trailer.
