Michiyo pushed the clone of Dabi away. The clone was against the other side of the wall. She covered her mouth with one hand while the other was flat against the brick wall behind her. "Y-you can't...! T-Touya, I like you but only as a friend! S-so..."
"If you see me only as a friend, look at me in the eyes and tell me so."
"I like you but only as a-" When she did look at him in the eyes, she stopped upon hesitation. Why did she pause? Why was her heart beating frantically after that sudden kiss from him? She should be horrified by the kiss alone, not finding herself drowning in the warmth of the lingering touch upon her lips!
"You can't say it." He closed the distance yet again. Michiyo tried to run away, but the clone wasn't letting her get away.
"T-Touya..." She was scared, so scared that she created a diamond wall between them. "Touya, no."
Dabi's clone touched the diamond wall and he screamed against it after he touched the wall and banged it with his palms a few times. He pressed his forehead against the thin but strong wall she had put up. Why? How? Why did it become this way? How did it come to the point where they could no longer smile like in the past?
'But I am Dabi...' Dabi thought to himself. "Michiyo, I'm sorry." It's not an apology for the sudden kiss, it's an apology from the bottom of his heart for hurting her and failing to be her hero. He's apologizing to her as Dabi, not as Touya. "I'm so sorry."
Michiyo couldn't understand him. What was he apologizing for? She touched the wall, her palms aligning with his. "Touya..."
"I'm not Touya. The real Touya is not me."
"Huh?"
Dabi's clone couldn't stand it. He couldn't stand leaving Michiyo within the white lies. The more he saw her searching for Dabi, the more his own pain grew. It hurts him so much knowing the person she was looking for this whole time was just beside her all along. Why couldn't she and the original be happy? It's as if they weren't meant to be when they wished nothing more but to be together.
"Touya?!" She gasped in horror as he slowly set himself on fire. Dabi's clone believed the real decision should be made not by him but by the real Dabi. Whether to tell Michiyo the truth or not, it's all down to the original.
"Michiyo, I am just a clone Touya placed by your side to keep you company. The original is out on a mission."
"Touya put you here by my side? Then where is he?" She didn't know the original thought about her so much to leave a clone behind.
Dabi's clone was happy to have been by her side. He was happy she's talking to him as Touya, but he knew it had to be Dabi and not Touya. He smiled within the burning pain as he continuously allow his Quirk to burn him. How strange, he remembered the pain was greater when he was younger, but the feeling was gone. Was it because the person he adored was there? He moved his left hand against the diamond wall, as if stroking her cheek. "Touya...no, Dabi did something he could never be forgiven for. He did something he could no longer fix."
"W-what did he do? Touya, stop burning yourself!" She broke down the diamond wall and she was forced to harden herself like diamonds just so he couldn't burn her when he embraced her to him. "Touya!" Her clothes were not burning because she started to wear dresses that were fireproof, that's how considerate of Dabi she was.
"Let me burn with you in my arms. I'm already burnt beyond help..."
"Touya!"
The clone closed his eyes peacefully with the original Michiyo in his embrace. She doesn't know this, but he's holding her as Dabi.
