Days go by, it could never stay the same. Michiyo sent an email to Keita telling him that she will not go back to work due to personal issues and that she was thankful for everything Keita had done for her. When she pressed the send button, she sighed out tiredly.
Dabi came out of the shower and he caught sight of her throwing her phone to the end of the bed. He looked at her to see her hug her knees to her chest. "Michiyo..."
"I just wanted to go back to those gentle days. If I hadn't killed that policewoman, things would have been different."
Dabi sat on the bed with her and he patted her on the head, "If you got caught, you can escape by turning yourself into diamond dust...but the situation would have been the same."
"How so?"
"I would have gone to the police station and cremate the woman myself. Even if you escape, she will never ever let you go. They will find even more ways to corner you...they will chase after you again and again until all you can do is cry and curse your own life." He hugged her to him and he pulled her to his lap. "I know how this ends up because that's exactly how I felt. I lost what was supposed to be 'normal'. Only I understand you, I'll protect you, okay?"
Michiyo closed her eyes and she silently cried. "Dabi, I'm scared."
"I know." He could see how killing Shiki was affecting her. He could see how she was killing her very own soul. Guilt was eating away at her and the smiles and cheerfulness she usually had was slipping away day by day.
"I'm sorry."
"Huh?" What was she sorry for?
"I'm sorry for all the wrongs I have done. Please let me go back to those days again..." She sounded so tired and exhausted.
"...why are you sorry when you have done nothing wrong?" He was angry because he knew she wouldn't have done any of these things if she had the choice! If she wasn't chased by Shiki, she wouldn't have killed him. If she was rescued, she could have walked a different path. If her parents loved her properly, they wouldn't sell her and put her in a place of sexual torture and leave her to fend for herself. Dabi was angry because Michiyo was just like him; they did not choose their destiny, everything was forced upon them and they had no chance to fight against it.
"Ah-!" She was pushed down onto the bed, she was under him and she felt him stroke her cheek. "Dabi?"
"We need to take it back ourselves, Michiyo. We need to take back what belonged to us in the very first place."
"We need to take it back?"
"Society itself stole everything from us. We need to take it all back, don't we? They're saying that we are wrong for the justice we fought for, right? We might as well make the best of it." He was sick and tired of society pressuring and failing Michiyo again and again. It doesn't matter if society fail him, he's used to it, but he couldn't accept a society that kept failing Michiyo. "I don't need a society that doesn't protect you. I told you, didn't I? I'll create a society where no one will ever suffer the same thing you suffered. I'll give you anything, everything." He sealed his promise to her with a kiss to the lips. "I'll do everything for you. You just watch me give you everything, okay?"
"What do you mean by that? What are you going to do?"
"I'm going to burn this hero society down."
When she sat up, Dabi moved back. "Dabi, I only have you now. I don't want to lose anything else..." She was truly scared of losing some more important things. If she lose Dabi, she will lose her sanity.
"Michiyo..." He thought she'd be happy to have this society burnt down to nothing.
"Will you leave with me?"
