Chapter 2- Arrival

We had finally arrived at our apartment complex, it being 1 hour later then intended because of James' constant stops for food.

I got out of the car with James a box each of stuff in our hands as we made our way towards the elevator inside. I pressed the button the elevators opening instantly. I couldn't bare to imagine if there wasn't an elevator. The amount of stairs we'd have to walk to get our stuff up.

I pressed level 5, the elevators doors shutting and moving upwards. The number blinked on level 4 as the doors opened and two extremely tan looking guys walked inside. One had blonde short hair while the other had brunette hair with the smallest tings of red. I looked up to grab another glance when I saw the brunette was already looking back at me. I looked back down, my cheeks flushing a light pink.

The elevator doors opened to level 5. I looked back one last time shooting him a smile as he gave me a small wave. James and I walked down the hall finding our room number 21. I took a deep breath a wave of nervousness coming over me. We paid a lot of money for this and I seriously hope it was worth it.

James gave me a reassuring smile as I pushed the key into the lock and opened the door. I pushed my self inside and placed the box on a nearby table.

I looked around in awe happy with my risk of a decision to move here. It was absolutely beautiful. I made my way further inside passing the living room and walking towards the balcony door. I slid the door open and took a step outside into the fresh Bondi air. I took a whiff, the smell of salt air filling my nostrils. I smiled as I looked over the view (picture attached) the pool being right below our balcony as it overlooked the whole beach. I mean, I'd seen photos but this was a thousand times better.

"Come on. Let's go get the other boxes" James shouted from inside as he left the apartment. I followed quickly behind him eager to get on with my first day in Bondi.

It took us about 50 minutes to get all the stuff up from the car and unpacked into its spots. Just a few more days until our apartment would be completed with the furniture from the truck.

My phone vibrated in my pocket as I got a call. I pulled my phone out squealing as my dads name came across the screen. "Hey dad" I spoke into the phone. "Hey Lil, have you arrived in Bondi yet?" he asked. "Yea we just arrived about an hour ago" I said happily, still gawking at the room. "Oh great! Do you and James want to come meet the kids and I out for dinner. About 7:00pm at Icebergs?" He said back. "Yea definitely I'll let James know. I'm so glad I'm back" I said with a smile. "Me too honey, the kids and I have missed you so much" he spoke. I poured slightly thinking of how long it had been since I'd seen them. "I've missed you all too... Anyway, I'll see you guys there at 7" I spoke as we said our goodbyes and ended the call.

"James!" I yelled from the living room. "We are going out for dinner at 7 with dad, Macy and Evie so be dressed". "Yea okay" he said. I rolled my eyes at his blunt answer.

I walked into my bedroom and flopped onto my bed. I looked at my alarm clock beside me seeing 1:47pm. I got a few hours to kill so I rested my eyes and soon fell into a nice sleep.

I woke up to James shoving me off my bed as I fell on the floor with a thud. "Ow! What the hell James!" I yelled rubbing my head. "It's 6, and I know how long you take to get ready. So start moving" he said clapping his hands. I giggled at him and shoved him out of my room.

I rummaged through my closet looking for an outfit for tonight. I chose a black short dress with some sandals leaving my hair in nice waves. I put on a bit of foundation, mascara and lipstick finally looking at my full self in the mirror. I smiled as I walked out to see James waiting for me.

We got downstairs and jumped into the car pulling up at Icebergs at exactly 7. I jumped out of the car excitedly making my way inside. I scanned the crowd finally seeing my dad, Macy and Evie. I fast walked towards them not wanting to make a scene. Dad stood up as soon as he saw James and I, pulling us into a big hug. I couldn't help but let a tear slide down my cheek knowing I was finally with my dad after so long.

I quickly wiped it away giving the kids a cuddle and sitting down. I looked around the place seeing a few older guys sitting near the bar, my eyes landing on the same brunette from the elevator. His eyes met mine as he gave me a slight nod and a cheeky smile. I giggled and smiled back before turning back to my dad.

"So how's your apartment?" Dad asked as the food we'd ordered came out. "It's amazing! Better than anything I expected" I said with a big smile. "That's good. Have you two thought about jobs yet?" He spoke as he started to eat his meal. "Yea, I'm probably just going to try get a job at one of the cafes here for a while" James replied. "Yea that's good and it's not too far to walk as well" dad said smiling. "What about you Lil?" He asked looking down at his food. "I was thinking of heading down to the lifeguard tower tomorrow so see if I could try get a job as a lifeguard there" I spoke making his head shoot up.

"Following in your fathers footsteps" he said with a cheeky smile. I rolled my eyes playfully at him letting out a giggle. We continued to eat our food as my mind continued to drift towards the brunette at the bar near us. I turned my head to look at him, seeing him laugh with his friends. His white teeth as he smiled and enjoyed himself. He caught me looking and I instantly looked back at the table. Wow, he probably thinks I'm a major creep right now.

Once we had finished our meals Dad had announced that he was leaving as it was past Macy and Evie's bed time. We said our goodbyes as they left the restaurant. I stood up followed by James as we made our way towards the exit. We walked past the table the guys were sitting at only to see it empty with a couple of beer glasses left on it.

I sighed in somewhat disappointment as we continued to make our way outside. "He is it alright if I just go take a walk on the beach, I'll be back before 10pm" I said to James. "Yea no worries, I'm knackered anyway. I'm just going to head straight to bed" he said. I nodded and started to walk towards the beach. As I took a few steps down towards the beach I took my sandals off and stepped onto the sand.

I smiled as the memories of coming here when I was just a little girl came back to mind. I head towards the ocean walking along the side of it. The moonlight being enough light to give me some direction of where I was and where I was going. I sat down on the sand looking over the water. Hearing laughter a few metres down the beach as I looked and saw the familiar brunette guy again and the same guy that was with him in the elevator. He probably thinks I'm following him or something. I stood up quickly not wanting to give him the wrong impression and started to head off the beach. I headed up the streets of Bondi until I reached my apartment complex.

I pressed the elevator button as I waited for the elevator to come down. I heard chatter behind me as I waited. The doors opening as I walked in pressing the button. I looked up and saw the elevator guys again. He shot me a cheeky smile as I looked down smiling to myself a blush forming on my cheeks. The elevator finally opened as they walked out on their level. I let out the breath I was holding as soon as they walked out. The elevator finally reached my level as I walked out and into the apartment.

I headed straight for my room and took my makeup off. I jumped into the shower quickly the brunettes face continuously coming into mind. I wonder what his name was? Would I see him again? What if he thinks I'm stalking him?

I quickly hopped out of the shower ignoring my questioning thoughts and hopped into bed. I snuggled into the blankets excited for tomorrow.
