A/N- Hey I'm going to be updating almost everyday but if I don't plz don't hate me haha
~*Harrison's POV*
"I know I fucked up" I said through the radio as everything that Lilly had said had just gone through her radio. I chuckled slightly as I saw her face from the tower go from normal to scared in point 5 seconds.
My smile instantly vanished as I'd realised that I'd literally fucked up.
This was going to be a long shift.
The beach wasn't as crowded today as their was a slight overcast and storm coming tonight. It was supposed to get really bad all night.
The day past pretty slowly before I knew it everyone was at the tower for the debrief from Hoppo. I looked at Lilly seeing her avoid eye contact with me at all costs. I could feel Maxi's hard glare burning into my head from beside me.
I zoned out on what Hoppo has said before I realised everyone was leaving. I quickly grabbed my bag before walking out of the tower. I ran outside hoping to catch Lilly but she was already far along the path close to the apartment complex.
I sighed before hearing a beep from beside me. I looked to my right seeing Chloe in her car. I sighed even more before making my way to her car.
I jumped in the passenger seat as I heard her squeal. "Hey baby! How was work? Making lots of money?" She said in her high pitched voice as she chewed on her gum. I furrowed my brows at her last comment.
"Uh good. I guess" I replied simply. "I'm going to sleep over yours tonight" she replied before reversing and making her way to the apartment complex. I hadn't realised how annoying she was.
As soon as we got inside the apartment complex it started pelting down with rain and thunder instantly shook the apartment complex.
We made our way inside the elevator thoughts running through my head of when Lily and I were in the elevator. I smiled slightly, it fading instantly as soon as I realised I had a new girlfriend.
I unlocked the door to my apartment before making my way inside seeing Maxi sitting on the kitchen island.
"Hey maxi" Chloe said rolling her eyes. Maxi and her never really liked each other. To be honest I don't think any of my friends liked her. But we had history.
Maxi ignored her as Chloe sat herself on the couch. "I'm staying over tonight by the way" she said as Maxi made his way to his room. I quickly followed behind him making sure we were all good.
"Maxi?" I asked shutting his door behind me. "Mm?" He mumbled back before sitting on his spinning chair. "I know Lilly and you are really good friends now... but are we all good?" I asked nervously.
"Uhh.. yea. I just really think you fucked up bad. You really hurt that girl. And for what? To get back with THAT" he said gesturing to the other room.
"Yea I know. I don't know we have history" I spoke lowly.
"Mate just because you have history doesn't mean you have a future. It's history for a reason" he said patting my shoulder before walking to his bathroom.
He was right. We were history for a reason. She cheated on me and I'll never forget how she broke my heart. My first heartbreak. Was that what Lily was going through right now?
All of a sudden all of the lights, television and powerpoints flicked off. Fuck, the storm must've cut the power out. "Argh! Great the powers out!" Maxi shouted coming back out.
*Lilly's POV*
I was in my apartment for about 20 minutes before the power suddenly went out. Oh no. No no no. I hated storms. I hated rain and thunder and lightning. It was my biggest fear.
James was working a late shift as per usual so I was going to be alone for a while. I opened my phone to text Maxi to come up but my phone was completely dead. Darn me for not charging it last night.
I sighed, jumping as another bolt of the thunder echoed throughout my apartment. I scrambled to the door, locking it behind me before making my way down the stairs quickly.
There was no way I was catching the elevator down in this storm. There was a 100% chance I would die in there.
I knocked on Maxi's door furiously rubbing my arms to stop my shivers. Another bolt of thunder echoed through the hall making me jump. Please be home. Please be home.
The door opened, seeing Harrison there. "Is Maxi here?" I asked quickly. "Uhh- Yeah. Yeah he is. Come in" he said opening the door wider. Wide enough to see his ex-girlfri- oh wait. Just girlfriend. Sitting there on the couch. I scrunched my nose up in disgust and disappointment.
"Maxi Lilly's here" Harrison said knocking on Maxi's door. Another bolt of thunder echoed through the apartment even louder than the ones before making me jump again, a whimper leaving my lips.
I heard a mocking laugh beside me seeing Chloe glaring at me as she laughed. I blushed in embarrassment before looking up to Harrison. He looked at me in sympathy. He knew I hated thunder and all that.
Soon enough Maxi came out of his room. "Hey what's up?" Maxi asked coming towards me. "Uhh. Could I stay here for a while. Just until the thunder stops" I said not wanting to say the words that I was scared in front of Chloe. I was not in the mood to get teased.
Maxi had a confused look on his face before Harrison whispered in his ear obviously whispering that I was scared. "Oh. Shit. Yea of course. Stay as long as you like" he said as realisation ran through his eyes.
"Thank you" I mouthed to Harrison as he gave me a small smile and a nod.
"Well, we cant do much so how about we play a game or something?" He asked looking at Harrison. He shrugged not minding what we did.
"Yea let's play truth!" Chloe's high pitched voice coming out. My eyes widened at how high her voice was making Maxi chuckle.
We formed a small circle on the carpet. This was kind of awkward. My ex-crush, my ex-crushes best friend and my ex-crushes new girlfriend. I gulped slightly as we began the game.
"Hmm Harrison, have you ever been in love?" Maxi asked making what seemed was, was Harrison glaring at Maxi. "Uh yeah of course" Harrison replied. We went through the circle, kind of enjoying myself at the stupid questions Maxi was asking everyone. "Hmm Okay, this is for everyone. Who hear thinks Lilly should back off from my boyfriend?" She said aggressively. I widened my eyes trying to comprehend what she'd just said.
Was in a dream or was this idiot for real?
I gulped slightly, "uhh-" I started before getting interrupted by Maxi. "What the fuck Chloe?" He yelled as she looked at him innocently. "Uhh I'm g-gonna head back. The p-power should be back on soon" I stuttered out making Chloe chuckle.
I avoided eye contact with her as Maxi walked me out. "Hey you don't have to leave because of her?" He said. "No it's weird. I'm hanging with the guy that broke my heart and his new girlfriend. I'm just going to head home. Hopefully my brother is home" I said giving him a sad smile. "Only if your sure?" He asked as I nodded. "Okay I'll see you later" he said giving me a hug.
