*Lilly's POV*

It had been a week since my encounter with Harrison and I honestly haven't seen him around since. That's a major surprise considering we work together and he lives one floor below me.

Jasmine and I had awkwardly agreed that I find another baby sitter due to the awkward and somewhat unprofessional situation that happened.

I've come to terms with the fact that I'm going to be a single mum and I was okay with that. Heathers been fine for the year that I've been alone with her. It was a hard year, the hardest year of my life but I did it and I didn't need Harrison in any bit of it.

I sat on the couch with Heather in my lap as she snuggled herself into my chest. She was the most perfect little person to enter my life. She was the reason for my happiness and I don't know what I'd do if I lost her.

I jumped at the sound of my door knocking loudly. My eyebrows furrowed in confusion at who it could be because I wasn't expecting any visitors. I softly lifted Heather up and placed her into her small rocking chair, flicking on the switch as it cradled her back to sleep.

There was another large knock. I rolled my eyes and proceeded to open the door being surprised as Maxi pushed past me with a groan.

"Yea come in" I said sarcastically with a chuckle.

"Can you believe him! He's so stupid! He doesn't even know what he's doing! Are you going tonight?" He implodes on me.

"Woah. Woah. Woah. What's going on? Who's stupid? What's happening tonight?" I asked laughing at his randomness.

"Of course he wouldn't tell you. Because he's selfish..." he said trailing off.

"Maxi what's going on?" I asked seriously.

"It's Harrison..." he started making my mind go crazy with thoughts and worry if he was okay.

"He got engaged" he said making my head shoot up in shock.

"W-What?" I stuttered out. A saddened look crossed over his face. "Yea. I'm sorry" he whispered.

"Who to?" I asked as I walked over to the fridge, pulling out Heathers food that I needed to prepare. Thankfully, it was also a distraction.

"Jasmine" he spoke placing his hands against the counter leaning forward.

I nodded as I bit my lip harshly, I swear I drew blood.

I continued to cut up her fruits into tiny pieces as my eyes began to fog with tears.

"Lilly" he said coming behind the counter.

"What?" I shouted making myself accidentally cut my finger in the process making me shout profanity.

"Shit" I said covering my face with one bleeding finger as I began to cry.

"No no no. Come here" Maxi said pulling me into his arms. I buried my head into his chest as I let out all my tears and emotions. I was upset. I was angry. I was jealous. Why did she get what I always wanted from him.

"I love him Maxi" I cried as he rubbed my back.

"I know you do darl. I'm so sorry. I don't know what he's thinking..." he said softly kissing my forehead.

"What's tonight?" I asked curiously lifting my head from his chest to look at him. He wiped my tears falling with his thumb before he began speaking, "his engagement party. He told me to give this to you".

He handed me a thin piece of paper. I glanced over it seeing the familiar names of my ex baby sitter and my ex boyfriend and father of my child. I sighed deeply as I just stared at the paper that I so seriously thought my name was going to be on one day.

"Are you going to go?" He asked making me look at him in thought.

"I have to take care of Heather..." I whispered putting the paper down on the bench.

"My mum can take her tonight. Cmon let's get you dolled up and make him realise what he's missing out on" he spoke dragging me towards my room.

"Harrison I'm not a home wrecker" I mumbled avoiding eye contact.

"Lilly. What home? They only just got married? We both know that Jasmine isn't the one for him. He doesn't look at her the way he looked and still looks at you. Please just trust me on this" he spoke making me groan and flop back on my bed.

"Okay" I whispered making him cheer. "Call your mum" I said with a giggle making him run into the living room to call his mum.

I stood up and picked Heather up from her rocking chair.

"Your going to Nanna Karen's" I cooed to her making her clap her little hands and chant yes over and over again.

Yes Heather had said the few basic words like yes and no but never said an actual word. As much as I tried to get her to say Muma it just had to come naturally.

"She's going to come get her in an hour. Now let's get you ready" he said sending me a playful wink.
