It was 11:55, I told Sweet Pea I was tired after he walked me home and he didn't question it and left. FP is not home and god knows when he will be and JugHead is at Betty's, so sneaking out can't be that hard. I pulled on a hoodie and put a switch in my pocket just in case this went awry.
I left and jogged to the Sunny Side trailer park sign and a car was already parked there. It was black and all supped up and fancy. I walked over and knocked on the window, some opened the back door.
"Get in." It was a different voice, it wasn't Axels. I was hesitant but I was already here so might as well follow through.
Axel is driving, but his goons from the other night Slip Knot and Nico aren't in the car. There is a guy in the back with me who looks about 20 and another guy in the passenger seat who can't be any older than 16.
"Ahh ghoulie killer." Axel greets, I see him smile in the mirror. "Wise choice showing up."
"I do what I have to do ghost boy." I spat. The guy next to me watches intently. "Where am I going? Who am I fighting?" I pressed for answers about this mysterious night.
"Curious are we?" The guy next to me pipes up and I say nothing to him.
"Riley this is Quip. He is gonna train you. Your not fighting anyone tonight, just getting technique. You need to put on a show to win cash." I nod and he continues. "This is Kyle, the Ghoulie you almost beat to death that day." I smile wickedly at the memory.
"And the one who came back and almost beat me to death." I shot back. He nodded his head and tapped on the steering wheel. The rest of ride was silent until the car stopped. "Where are we?" I asked confused by the fact that the surroundings were new and everything was dark.
"We're in my house now." Quip jumped out of the car and jumped over the hood to get to the other side. They all were walking towards a building. It was bigger than the wyrm but looked more run down.
"Riley welcome to the house of the dead." Axel pushed open the door and Kyle held it. Inside people were screaming and it stunk like weed. People were doing jingle jangle, drinking and play fighting each other. They were walking through the crowds of mostly young people when some yelled making Axel stop.
"Serpent!!" Some yelled from the crowd. The whole room went silent, I wasn't paying attention and bumped into Axel when he stopped.
"What is she doing here?" One of the few older members approached, a joint in his lips but he didn't look very high.
"Relax Mark, she's gonna make us rich. Remember when she beat down Kyle over here." He patted Kyle on the back and I stepped out from behind both of them. "And remember when you sent men to almost beat her to death?" He sent him a glare. "We're going to the basement to train her. Anyone object?!" The whole bar was silent still. He nodded and grabbed my wrist pulling me through the crowd.
We walked down a set of stairs into the basement. It was way less run down than the rest of the building. I guess they used to fight here a lot because the floors are covered with mats and a few punching bags hung from the roof. "Here." Kyle opens a bag and tosses me a pair of leggings and a sports bra. I'm not wearing that in front of these guys.
"I'm good." I Said and tossed the clothes back to him.
"What do we have different taste?" It was a girls voice. I looked in the direction it was coming from and saw a girl wearing a bright pink sports bra and black leggings with a pink strip up the side. Axel tensed at her present and I saw his jaw tighten.
"What are you doing here Vanessa?" He said through gritted teeth. She smiled sweetly at him.
"You didn't think you could bring serpent scum in here and me not know?" She winked and he rolled his eyes. "Anyway sweetie put it on so me and Quip can train you." Kyle tossed me the clothes again and Quip nodded.
