Riley's POV

Christmas break had ended for those who had to go to school. This meant I had to have the conversation I'd been dreading with FP.

"Riley you have to go to school." He said and I visibly frowned. I've been living with them for about three weeks and we've all become more comfortable with each other and they learned how to read my expressions rather than my words.

"Don't give me that. You have to graduate, go to college, get a job." I sighed and he shook his head with a small laugh. "We have a meeting with the principal there at 12. Just to find out what classes you'll be put in and stuff like that. So ya know eat and get dressed."

I ate breakfast and looked through the clothes I had trying to get dressed. I had acquired more clothes over the holidays as a gift from FP, not a lot but I didn't need a lot . I was standing in front of my closet trying to pick something out when FP walked by the door.

"Don't really matter what you look like expectations aren't that high there." He said with a deep sigh. So I pulled my hair into a pony tail, put on black ripped a jeans and long sleeve red shirt, pulled my dads jacket on and patted the pockets for my switch blade and lighter, they were there.

We walked into the school just before lunch so there was no one around the front entrance but a security guard standing by a metal detector. I internally panicked. When I was thirteen I was shot twice and I fell backwards off of balcony. It was only one story so I lived but my arm had some intense damage. I have a big scar on my right arm from the surgery and there are metal pins in it. I also have bullet fragments left just below my ribs. There's no way I won't set this thing off.

We approached the guard who asked us to walk through FP took out his phone and took his jacket off and he could walk through easily. I took off my jacket but didn't show the blade and lighter in the jacket pocket. I stepped through and it went crazy.

"Is there something your hiding?" The guard asked tiredly. I shook my head. "Try coming through again." So I did and the same thing happened.

"Riley what's going on?" FP asked confused. I gulped and rolled up my sleeve. His eyes widened at the huge scar, This being the first time he's seen it.

"There's metal pins in it." I Said quietly. The guard just looked bored and FP looked sad, so I left out the part about there being bullet fragments left in my body.

"Do you have a medical card?" The guard asked and I shook my head. "We'll go through and get one from the principal if you end up coming back." I nodded and grabbed my jacket.

By this time it was lunch and all the students were out of class. I yanked my sleeve down and FP let me know we're weren't done talking about this.

Since everyone was around, when FP walked through the halls he was like a celebrity. All the teenage serpents were greeting him and then just stared at me as I followed close behind. We saw JugHead in the halls with some other serpents and FP stopped to talk. I felt all their eyes, on me even though he was talking to them, but the only eyes I met were Sweet Peas. I fidgeted nervously under his stare, I glanced up to meet his eyes and he smirked. Normally when I would haul a switch on someone and they hated me they wouldn't smirk. Maybe I'm over my head here. He finished up chatting and we went to the office.

The meeting went pretty well I don't really have to talk at all most of his questions were directed towards FP. The principal told me while FP filled out paper work I would get a tour from two peer mentors, they were waiting outside the office. I nodded and got up, I had a funny feeling I knew. God damn it. Toni and Sweet Pea were waiting outside the office Toni smiled when they saw and Sweet Pea rolled his eyes,I remained expressionless.
