Adrian's POV
That was the seventh time I had picked and dropped the phone. Paige's name flashed across the screen and all I had to do was hit the green button.

But by doing that, I would be risking everything, including my relationship with Paige. On the other hand, the thought of not speaking to her was eating me up. That made me press the button and now I was anxiously waiting to see her again. All of a sudden, a day seemed like an eternity away.
Jonathan's POV
Hearing Paige's name didn't give me any comfort or peace as it use to when she was younger. She was always a break in my busy life when Mr. Evans asked me to keep her company at times or to give her a lift.

Mr. Evans. That name sounded so bitter on my tongue which was exactly how you would describe him ...bitter, and never satisfied.

Anyways wanting to change everything to suit him and even then he wasn't satisfied, but but with Paige. She answers right he was as kind and innocent as she was.
I always knew his attitude would be the death of him, I just never knew I would have any part in it.

I heard a knock on the door of my small office and Paige entered. I couldn't help but sigh aloud, why did she always come at he wrong time.

She smiled a little as she heard me sigh and said, "I know I've been a burden l lately without realizing how you felt. I know you've been avoiding me because of dad's case."

I wonder if she heard me gulp, I definitely heard it as loud as a drum. If she did, she ignored it and continued, "If must have been really hard for you, l knowing you lost such a great man."

Wait what?
"I guess you just want to forget and I'm sorry did bringing up something you clearly want to forget. "

Wait, did she think I was grieving her fathers lose. Far from it.
"I know you miss him but I really need your help. I need to know so that the bastard can pay. Please Joey."

She only called me Joey when she wanted something from me, I couldn't do anything but nod yes, even though I wanted nothing to do with that bastards death. "I'll try and find some info and I will contact you. " I lied.

Her face brighten up and she ran to my desk to hug me. "Thank you Jo, thank you so much."
"Anytime." I said ads she left the office, smiling. What have I gotten myself into?"
