His Big Brother

Seeing him there,so pale and helpless made me feel sick to my stomach. I couldn't do a thing as his older brother. It was my fault waiting so long to call for the doctor. That bastard hardly even did anything to him either. The incompetent fool just prayed over him as Quincy suffered. It's too far to the next village to find a proper one and no one will watch after him. Hardly a day goes by when he doesn't vomits out his meals. Every sun down he looks paler and thinner. Almost like a ragdoll. The guilt, the anger dug away at me repeatedly until I decided to get up and do something about it myself.

The harsh winter outside was getting worse each hour, the cold nipping away at my fingertips and nose. My eyes were blocked by the harsh winds and snow that rained down with the occasional hail. I was getting desperate and it took another hour to reach the deserted town. I called out restlessly for anyone would help and unfortunately I knew there was one option left. The strange man claiming to cure everything. I knew it was a horrible idea. But what choice did I have? I couldn't lose him. He was the only one left and he was the most important thing in my life. Lifting my tired limbs I walked to the very end of the village to the solitary hut which lay my answer. It took hours and hours of groveling and begging but the man finally agreed. He wasn't from here. I know that, everyone knew everyone here. It was a pretty isolated place and new people stuck out easily. Another indicator might have been his poor Tibetan and his irritating complaints about the constant cold. But through and through that idiot saved him. He stuck a sharp object into his arm with green medicine. The next day he seemed so much better. At least I thought so.

From then, things  got so much worse
