I sipped my coffee awaiting Pippa's arrival. Unlike how we had planned I had turned up 30 minutes early as I liked to be on schedule. I glanced at my watch and saw that it was 5 minutes to 10. Surely she'd be here soon?
As if on cue, Pippa emerged into the cafe with a crowd of people. Her green box braids stood out like a highlighter seprating her from the rest. She wore a worn out wooly sweater which just happened to be green too with the only item that wasn't green in her outfit -- was black leggings.
She opened her arms and trapped me in a tight embrace.
"I am so happy you're here. All I could think about what we're going to do today."
To be honest I felt the same, I had been cooped up in my home doing nothing so it was great to get out.
"Me too," I haven't been out since..."
"Since what?"
I glanced at my coffee cup embarrassed . "Since Amelia."
Pippa gazed at me with her gentle, affectionate green eyes and held my palm in her hands. "Today you'll forget about Amelia, because we are going to have so much fun."
I narrowed my eyebrows in confusion. "Aren't we just going to drink coffee?"
"One thing you should know about me is that I don't sit around and drink coffee."
And before I could respond she was already on her way out the door.

One long cab ride later we arrived at Cineworld. I couldn't remember the last time I had actually gone to the cinema as no one refused to come with me. Amelia didn't like sitting on the seats because according to her they were "infected with nasty germs." Plus my parents were always abroad unable to take me anywhere.Inside the cinema was massive, there were huge screens showcasing the latest films. We stopped for a few seconds to decide which film we should watch.
"How about that one." I suggested pointing to the Spiderman into the spiderverse poster.
Pippa gasped. "You like Marvel?"
"I don't like it, I love it!"
"Looks like we've settled on an option."
Pippa then discretely pushed into the front of the queue dragging me with her. When the server asked what we wanted to order, even she wasn't prepared for Pippa's long list of snacks. In fact Pippa had to repeat her order twice so the server remembered it. The price altogether for the order was astonishing. I had never seen anyone spend that much money on food.
Frantically searching in her bag for her purse, Pippa apologised to the people waiting in line behind her.
The server rolled his eyes impatiently. "Just get inside."
We thanked the server for his gratitude and held our tickets and snacks with pride as we headed to screen 4.
Luckily enough we were able to both sit in the back row next to each other. The seats were soft and velvety letting me feel at ease. I could sense the aroma of sweet buttery of popcorn mixed with a gooey creamy cheese pizza.
Pippa whispered quietly to me. "You know I did actually have my purse." I stopped chewing my popcorn like I had been paused with a remote. Suddenly it felt bad to be eating all these snacks.
"Why did you pretend you didn't?" I frowned crossing my arms over each other.
"Because I felt like it. Honestly wanted to see how good my acting skills were."
"You need to be careful Pippa, that could've easily backfired."
Pippa shrugged her shoulders. " But it didn't. " Sometimes it's good take risks."
I opened my mouth to respond, but Pippa shushed me because the film was about to start.
The movie was spectacular. I enjoyed the swift animations and the alternate universes they had put in the film. During the film, Pippa and I couldn't help but laugh at the smallest things getting rude stares from other people.
It was a shame when it all came to an end because I didn't only enjoy the film but my experience being a cinema. Pippa and I exchange phone numbers before we said our goodbyes so we could meet up again sometime.
Although I would never admit it to her face, that was the most fun I had ever had with anyone. Pippa had an element of surprise to her, you could never tell what she was up to.
As soon as I went inside my home I kicked of my shoes, and jumped onto my sofa flicking through different videos on YouTube.
Just then I got a notification.
