Lance
I think I broke every speeding limit getting across town to the girls apartment. I've never been so freaked out and worried in my life as I am right now. Having Tess walk out this morning in the middle of a fight then getting a call from Jake telling me that the girls are in danger and to get to them fast was not the way I planned on starting my day. I pull up in the parking lot and see a police car and two ambulances and a fire truck.
Fuck! What the hell happened?
Jumping out of my car I head straight for the girls place, but see them bringing two gurneys down with bodies on them. I can't see who's who. The EMT's are working fast on both girls. Oxygen masks are on them IV's, they're monitoring vitals. What I can see is blood on both of them. Both of them? I freak immediately, both girls are hurt? What the fuck?!
"What happened? That's my sister and her best friend! Where are you taking them? What the hell happened here?" I blurt out question after question quickly. I need to follow the ambulances, I need to let the family know what happened. Damn it, Tess this wasn't the day for you to leave. I gotta get a hold of her too. Shit too many people to get a hold of and not enough time to do it. I need answers first.
"Sir, they're being taken to County Memorial. Both girls were hurt pretty bad, one has a head injury the other was shot twice, it doesn't look good for her. Looks like they interrupted a home intruder. I can't tell you more, sorry."
"Thanks." Fuck! Fuck! I curse silently as I race back to my car. I don't know enough! Who has what injury? Fuck! What do I tell Blake? I dial the family and start to the hospital. I need to get there.
"Lance where are you, man? What's happening?" Jake asks.
"They're taking the girls to County Memorial. One has a head injury and..." I struggle with this, I don't know which one it is and it's killing me. "One of them was shot twice."
"What? fuck! Who got shot Lance? How bad? Head injury? We need more information, Lance." Jake, Tyler and Cade are all yelling questions at me at once.
"Shut up! That's all I have right now. I'm on my way there now. I'll call when I have more." I tell them.
"We're at the airport, Lance. We'll be there soon. Blake got a private plane for us. Matt's already landed and should be headed your way. Text him." Jake says shutting the others out.
"I will." I disconnect and stop at the light. Quickly, I text Matt to get to the hospital. I head off as fast as I can. My two favorite girls are in serious trouble. I just hope they both pull through.
Blake
I moving, but I'm working on autopilot. I'm not talking to anyone, I don't want to. I'm so fucking sorry for not being there for Emma. I shouldn't have left. If I had stayed she'd be okay right now. Rubbing my hands over my face I stare out the window waiting for the plane to take off. I feel a body sit down next to me and know someone is trying to get me to talk, but I don't want to. I just want my girls. I just want to know they're both safe.
"Blake, darlin we're taking off. You need to put on your seatbelt, honey." My mom says softly. I nod and lock my belt. She takes my hand and rests her head on my shoulder as the plane starts to move down the runway. "Emma's strong, honey. She knows you love her, and she loves you more than anything. She's gonna be just fine, honey. She'll be fine, you'll see."
I can only close my eyes and fight back every urge I have to break down in her arms. I'm close to that point. My eyes are burning with every pent up tear I'm holding back, my girl is hurt. Zach hurt her and Chelsea. I've got no idea how bad either of them are hurt, but one was shot twice. As bad as I'm feeling I'm thinking it Em. That connection we have has made me feel a lot of things lately like knowing to get to her when Taylor was there. Something is telling me now, it's Emma that was shot. It's killing me as that phone call replays in my head.
