This Toffee Almond Streusel Coffee Cake is seriously to die for. It's super moist and full of toffee, almond and cinnamon flavors. Breakfast has never been this tasty!
~Ingredients:
-Streusel:
3/4 Cup All Purpose Flour.
3/4 Cup Brown Sugar, packed.
1 Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon.
3/4 Cup Toffee Bits.
1/4 Cup Butter, melted.
-Coffee Cake:
1/2 Cup Granulated Sugar.
6 Tablespoon Salted Butter, room temperature.
1/4 Cup Sour Cream.
1/4 Cup Toffee Almond Coffee Creamer.
2 Egg Whites.
1/4 Teaspoon Almond Extract.
1 1/4 Teaspoon Baking Powder.
1 Cup All Purpose Flour.
-Glaze:*
3/4 Cup Powdered Sugar.**
2 Tablespoon Toffee Almond Coffee Creamer.
Slivered Almonds, optional.
Toffee Bits, optional.
~Directions:
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350 Degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare a circular 9 inch cake pan with a circle of parchment paper in the bottom and grease the sides.
-Making the Streusel:
Step 2: Add the all purpose flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, toffee bits and melted butter to a medium sized bowl and mix with a fork until well combined and crumbly. Set aside.
-Making the Coffee Cake:
Step 3: Beat the sugar and butter until light in color and fluffy, 3 - 4 minutes.
Step 4: Add the sour cream and the coffee creamer and mix until well incorporated.
Step 5: Add in the egg whites and the almond extract and mix until smooth.
Step 6: In a separate bowl, combine the flour and baking powder.
Step 7: Add the dry ingredients to batter and mix until smooth.
Step 8: Spread half of the cake batter into the bottom of the cake pan.
Step 9: Top the batter with about half of the streusel mixture.
Step 10: Spread remaining cake batter over the streusel.
Step 11: Sprinkle remaining streusel over the top of the cake batter.
Step 12: Bake for 28 - 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few crumbs.
Step 13: Remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes. Remove the cake from the cake pan and move to the cooling rack to finish cooling.
-Making the Glaze:
Step 14: Combine the powdered sugar and the coffee creamer in a small bowl and whisk until smooth.***
Step 15: Drizzle the glaze over the coffee cake and sprinkle a few almond slivers and toffee bits over it.

~Recipe Notes:
*The Slivered Almonds and the Toffee Bits are optional, if you want to add them you can but you don't have to.
**If the glaze runs too thin, then you can add more powdered sugar but remember that the more powdered sugar you add the more sweet the glaze will be.
***You can always add a little more creamer or sugar, if needed.
