[Peter]

"Pleeeassseee, dad?!" I begged, hoping my childish voice and doe eyes would make him cave. We were going to Miami to pick up the dog we adopted (I really wanted her, ok?) and Tony was hellbent on flying, but I wanted to take the car so we could enjoy a nice little road trip away from all stress.

"Oh, fine. You know I can't resist your puppy dog eyes, kid. How close are you to being ready to leave?" He asked, leaning against the counter.

"Um, I'm ready, I guess. I'm all packed, so we can go ahead and leave if you're ready." I shrugged, racking my brain to make sure I packed everything.

"Yeah, I'm good. Let's beat it then." He nodded and went to go grab our luggage. I pocketed my phone and made my way to the garage to meet him at the car.

When he put everything in the backseat and made sure the dog crate was secure in the trunk, he got in the car. "Are you hungry kid? We could stop for something now, or do you wanna wait until we've driven for a bit?"

"Let's wait, because I'm not that hungry right now. Still full from breakfast, I guess." I told him, fastening my seat belt. He nodded before following suit and turning the car on. He started messing with the stereo for a second before handing me the aux cord. I gasped, turning toward him. "Are you for real? You, like, trust me with that? May never lets me have the aux cord!!"

"Should I not be trusting you with it?" He asked, looking concerned but slightly amused.

"No, it's fine. If you don't like my music I'll change it. May just usually gets sick and tired of listening to musicals, so she's forbidden it." I shrugged, plugging the cord into my phone and opening my music app.

"Entertain me kid." He laughed, backing out of the garage and starting us on our way. He decided we were going to take the convertible, because why not? He hit a button and the top opened up, sending a wave of fresh air through us. I smiled, clicking on the shuffle button, gasping when 'Sincerely Me' from Dear Evan Hansen came on.

"Dear Evan Hansen, we've been way too out of touch-" Tony laughed a little at me because I started belting the lyrics. "Things have been crazy and it sucks that we don't talk that much. But I should tell you that I think of you each night, I rub my nipples and start moaning with delight!" At this point, Tony straight up burst out laughing.

"Whhaaatt??" I asked, fake pouting.

"This is what you listen to in your spare time? You theater kids are quite something, kid." He controlled himself, focusing on the road (which I'm sure was because if he looked at me he'd start laughing again).

"Oh shut up, you're not much better. And it's a great song. Classified bop. But after this, we can do Hamilton if you want." I shrugged, turning my attention back to the song.

"-Has been bad. Has been rough- kinky!" Tony snickered again, but I ignored it this time because I laughed at that part for like the first month I listened to the song. "And I miss talking about life and other stuff. Very specific. Shut u-I LIKE MY PARENTS! I LOVE MY PARENTS BUt each day's another fight. If I stop smoking drugs, then everything might be alright."

I continued belting out the lyrics all throughout the song. The wind from being on the highway just made it more fun. Even though we got some weird looks, I wasn't bothered at all. I was enjoying myself. This is exactly why I wanted to do drive instead. It was so fun to just be completely unbothered and let loose. When the song ended, I hit play on 'Guns and Ships' from Hamilton. Another BOP. I recited it perfectly, feeling slightly proud of myself for doing that.

I played a few more songs, including 'Washington On Your Side' (Hamilton), 'Michael In The Bathroom' (Be More Chill), 'Beautiful' (Heathers), and 'Candy Store' (Heathers). But after that, I set my phone down for a second.

"Thank you so much for actually agreeing to a road trip. I know I kind of guilted you into it, but I almost never go on road trips and they're so fun. It's a time for me to let loose a little. I have that chance being Spider-Man, but with school, the only chance I get to go out is for patrol, and I can't really let my guard down and be free. I hope I'm not being too annoying with my music, but it's just really fun to belt songs out. Especially with the top down. The wind is strong, but it feels really nice." I smiled, leaning my head back against the headrest and closing my eyes for a second to just take it all in.

"First of all Pete, you will never annoy me. I really hope you understand that. You are the purest, most amazing, sunshiny kid that I've ever met, and I'm glad I know you. Second of all, it's actually kind of fun to just listen to these songs with you. Your enthusiasm is really contagious, and it's entertaining to see you getting into the songs." Tony told me, smiling his genuine, never before seen smile.

"So, how much longer to the hotel?" I asked, grabbing my phone back and scrolling through my songs again.

"Well, considering we've been on the road for a little less than an hour, about 8 and a half hours to go." He said, laughing at my expression. I probably looked really offended, but I couldn't help it. That's so long! But at least I had a song library of 600 songs.

"Dang. What do you say we stop for food in about... 4 hours?" I suggested, figuring that'd be a little over the halfway mark of the drive.

"Sounds like a plan. Now play more Hamilton, that was interesting."

Um yeah.

I planned for this to go so differently but I actually kind of liked it?

I might do a part 2 because I don't know about you all, but I wanna see Irondad with a puppy

Anyway

See you all in the next chapter!
