"What did you just say, Peter?" Tony was smiling on the inside, but he had to act mad or Pepper would scold him too.
"Buttmunch!" Little Peter repeated, his smile almost wider than his face.
"We don't say that, buddy. Ok? Mommy will get really mad if we say that word." Tony told him, picking up his child and resting him on his hip. "Now, if you agree to not say that again, Daddy will agree to not tell Mommy. And he might also take a certain someone to get ice cream..."
"Ice cream! I want ice cream!" The little boy replied, perking up.
"Do you promise to not say that word again?"
"Yes! Yes!"
"Alright then, put on your shoes. We're going to get some ice cream!" Peter squealed when Tony said that, clapping his little hands together.
Tony kept Peter on his hip and walked over to the door to get his keys. By this point, Peter had clung onto his father like a koala, wrapping all of his limbs tightly around Tony. With a smile on his face, Tony walked to the garage and loaded Peter into the car.
The car ride was short, only 10 minutes with traffic, and then they were outside the ice cream shop quicker than Tony would've expected. When he got Peter out of the car, the boy ran to the door and patiently held it open for his dad. When the two went inside, Peter ran over to the display to choose his flavor. Tony allowed him to get a two scoop cup, as that was as much as the little kid could eat without getting sick. (Peter thought otherwise but didn't want to mess with his treat.) Soon enough, Peter decided on two scoops of chocolate fudge with a peanut butter swirl. The nice lady waiting on them started on his order while a second lady took Tony's order. Within 5 minutes, Peter and Tony were sitting outside with their ice cream.
"Why can't I say the word, daddy?" Peter asked his father while they ate their dessert. "All my friends say it and no one gets upset."
Tony sighed before answering. "That word isn't kind. It can be used in a hurtful way towards others, and you don't need to be hurtful. Think of it this way, it might be a funny word to say, but it isn't very funny to be called it in a mean way. You wouldn't want someone to call you that, would you?"
"No, I wouldn't." Peter said, turning his dad's explanation over in his head. "That makes sense. You don't call people hurtful words because you wouldn't want to be called that in return."
"Exactly! Good job Pete." Tony smiled at his kid proudly.
"Where's mommy?"
"She's at work, but she'll be home soon. They sent her on a little trip, so it might be a little longer than normal, but she'll be home tomorrow."
"That's cool! I wanna go on a trip." Peter said, nodding to himself.
"Well, how about when Mommy gets home we all go somewhere for the weekend? We can go wherever you want, kiddo." Tony suggested.
"Awesome! I wanna go to... Disney World!"
