Shadow's P.O.V.

I slowly opened my eyes seeing that Kiba and I where still in the cave. She was asleep next to me and I smiled, kissing her head as she snuggled closer to me. Feelings of love, protection, and compassion washed over me when I rubbed her side to make her feel safe as she slept. Kiba was destined to be the moon spirit when she turned eighteen and learned what caused her wolf form to trigger and change her form. Looking outside, I saw it was starting to grow light through the clouds. I needed to get back to my tribe and to my father Dark. He will want my hide if I'm not back by sun high. I gently lifted her head off of my shoulder and gently laid her down on the floor of the cave. She moved a little bit, but I pulled her jacket over her shoulder to keep her warm in the dry cave, and cave floor.
I left the cave after that, giving Kiba a kiss on her cheek before I left. Running through the woods, tree after tree and finally reaching the camp. I entered the clearing and took in the fresh air. "Shadow!" I heard. It was a kind voice, of a girl who cared for me, my little sister Cinder. She ran over to me and I wrapped my arms around her waist and spun her around. I chuckled. "It's good to see you Cinder." I smiled and she smiled back. Cinder was nine years old now, and my older brother Shade was twenty-one. "Father's been looking for you. He wants you in the den." She said pointing to the cave that lead to our den. I sighed, knowing my father Dark, he wouldn't be very happy that I returned today. But I know he will give me, less-of-a-harsh punishment for being late.
I walked over to the cave seeing my father as his wolf self. "Father." I said to announce my presence in the cave. He stood up and changed back to his normal self. For some reason, he would never show his face to anyone in his wolf form. "Shadow. You are late my son." He said with his deep voice. He walked over to me and lead me out of the cave. "I am sorry for being late father. I was caught in the storm last night." I said, remembering what happened. Kiba screaming, running, hiding, crying, then us kissing. I had left Kiba to rest in the cave because she was tired and I needed to leave so as not to be in serious trouble. "Shadow. I want you to spend the rest of the day with Kana." My father said looking over to the group of females. A feeling of vomiting was in my stomach when I saw Kana. She was a beautiful young woman now, but my father wanted her to be my mate. My heart belongs to Kiba, but I couldn't tell anyone that. The only one who knows about her is Cinder, and she's been able to keep me and her a secret, even though she doesn't know what happened last night. I groaned quietly at the thought of me and Kana together, even for the day. I knew that it was only for the day. Nodding to my father, I began my walk to the group.
Kana looked up and saw me. Her dark red tail and hair was I first noticed about her. When she gained them. She stood up and ran over to me. "Hi Shadow. Your father told me that we would spend the day together, right? Right. Now let's go!" She rushed grabbing my hand and leading me into the forest. I didn't even get the chance to say "hi" or tell her that I was "excited" to be with her for the day.
We walked around for a while when she stopped. "Shadow. What are you going to do knowing that your, sister, isn't going to be the next moon spirit?" Kana asked, sounding disgusted at the word sister. When she said it like that, it sparked a flame of hatred for her talking about Cinder like that. I hid my hatred for that. "Well, I'm going to pray that whoever is next, that she is going to be wise, kind, and gentle while protecting everything." I said, thinking of Kiba when she turns eighteen and becomes the next Tsukiakari. Kana just huffed and continued forward. I hated her attitude. Stubborn, hot-headed, and a pain in the tail. But I was stuck with her until I could confess my true feelings for Kiba.
We walked down to the edge of the lake. Luckily it was far away from my meeting spot with Kiba. She would heart-broken if she saw me here with Kana. I looked out at the lake and saw a group of swans fly down and land gracefully on the surface of the water. Their wings flapping, and the way that their gentle white bodies floated allowing them to seem even more graceful than they already are. Kana picked up a rock and threw it over next to them, splashing them with the water and making them scatter. She laughed. I saw the evil in her eyes of the pain she wanted to cause such innocent animals. Kana reached down and was about to throw another rock when I grabbed her hand, making her drop it. She looked up at me with her amber eyes in shock that I grabbed her. I gave her a stern look with my ocean blue eyes. "You shouldn't harm them. They are in the lake to rest from flapping there wings for so long, and you want scare them away to tire them more?" I shook my head and let her hand go. She looked at me, stunned and not moving for a minute, then she smiled. Why was she smiling? "Shadow, no one has ever said that to me..." She trailed off, then suddenly wrapping her arms around me and pushing me to the ground. "Kana what are you doing!?" I asked with alarm. Kana then moved her lips to mine and she kissed me. I didn't kiss her back, but I saw someone in the distance, a girl. She was wearing a beautiful light blue dress that flowed around her legs gently in the wind, a rose in her hand, and sadness on her face. It was Kiba! She dropped the rose, then ran off in the other direction.
