My heels click along the long hallway in beautiful Bridgestone Arena that leads to my office. A smile forms on my face hearing an all familiar giggle come from behind me before heavy footsteps.
"P.K. what are you doing?" I hum in question leaning against my office door looking at my best friend for the last three years.
P.K. and I had been friends since the moment we first met back at the all star game in 2016 where I tagged along with my brother. Our personalities were so similar that we we clicked immediately and have been practically inseparable since.
"Breezey, there's some rumors flying around," The taller man hums as he approaches me.
"When did you start listening to rumors?" I challenge raising a perfectly carved eyebrow at him. When P.K. mentioned rumors an argument or debate usually follows in pursuit.
"Since they started involving my best friend leaving me!" He whines standing before me towering over my 5'2 figure.
I smile sadly at my best friend before opening the door to my office allowing him to enter.
"You know I've been looking for somewhere new to work. I love Nashville and I love the team. I just need a place where I can work at my full potential rather than be limited because I am too distracted by my relationship with the players." I ramble as I settle myself into the plush chair that I have in my office. I glance up at P.K. who wore a look of hurt and confusion.
"So you really are leaving us?" The Canadian asks in a slow drawn out breath.
I nod my head as I stand back up having to comfort my puppy of a best friend. I wrap my arms around his waist and nuzzle against him.
"So when and where?" P.K. asks simply as he wraps his large arms around my shoulders holding me closer.
"I've decided to take a job with the Stars. They need a new video editor and social media coordinator. The game tomorrow night is my last game with Nashville then I will pack up and head back to Dallas with the Stars." I explain as I look up at P.K. biting my inner lip.
"Holy shit when were you going to tell us?" He exclaims pulling back from the hug.
I start to speak but I'm cut off by a knock on the door before the general manager walks in.
"Miss Bishop, the team was just informed of your move other than P.K. who i assume came to confront you about the topic on his own. They have offered to help you pack. I said I would come and ask you if you need assistance." David explains his presence.
I give P.K. a look before looking back at David.
"That is very sweet of them but my brother is coming over early with a few of the Stars. I may need a few-" I start but am cut off by P.K.
"Sir, Jos, Arvy, Pekka, and I will help her." P.K. insists looking over at me as he speaks.
I know better than to argue with the defenseman before me I always end up loosing anyways.
David nods before retreating from my office most likely to tell the men that they were going to be helping me.
I give P.K. a look before grabbing an empty box and tossing it at him.
"If you're going to help might as well start with my office." I hum with a sad smile.
~
A few hours later along with a fair share of tears shed my office was all packed up.
I look at the bare room before glancing back at P.K. who was staring at me with his dark eyes. I nudge him before nodding towards the door.
"Let's get these last boxes to my car. I have beer and our good old friend Jack Daniels waiting for us at the house." I suggest squatting down to pick up one of the two boxes left. The only response I get is a grunt from my hockey playing best friend.
I sigh softly as I walk to my car. The silent walk is interrupted by my phone going off. I groan softly before trapping the box between my hip and the nearest wall.
I answer the phone call with a struggle.
"Brianna Bishop." I state a bit out of breath as I struggle with my phone and the box.
I nod my head in thanks towards P.K. who takes the box from me adding it on top of the other that he has.
"Ben Bishop." A voice chuckles from the phone.
I snort shaking my head slightly as I continue my walk to my car.
"Sorry, i didn't see the caller I.D. before I answered. Am I on speaker?" I respond hearing other voices in the background.
I unlock my car as P.K. and I arrive to my beautiful black Audi.
"Oh yeah. I'm on speaker with a few of the boys. We're at your apartment right now, just fair warning." Ben chuckles before a loud bang comes from his side of the phone.
"What the hell was that?" I ask firmly afraid someone was hurt.
"Oh uh our captain just busted his ass over one of your puppy's toys." My brother chuckles.
I sigh and get into the car letting my phone connect to the Bluetooth inside.
"Say hi to P.K." I say to my brother while I pull out of the parking garage for the staff and players. I start the fifteen minute drive to my house chuckling at the collective 'hi's and 'p.k.? like subban?'s.
"Hey guys!" P.K.'s animated voice sounds off from beside me.
"Is your captain okay? I really don't want him to sue my puppy for him not being able to play a few games." I tease with a smile faintly before giggling when I hear a few voices laugh and say snide remarks.
"Oh yeah he's okay. Just a bruised ego and probably a bruised ass. I will see ya in a few."
"Yeah see you soon." I respond before hanging up with my brother.
~
The fifteen minute drive turned into a thirty minute drive with a pitstop at a gas station for a quick refuel and a slush break.
Once P.K. and I finally reach my apartment building we walk inside bracing ourselves not knowing what could be inside my apartment.
I unlock the door before walking into my apartment holding my blue raspberry slushee in one hand while my keys were in the other. I am sure I look like a crazy person.
My beautiful raven hair is thrown up into a messy bun and my makeup has to be smudged from the amount of tears that were shed between P.K. and I today.
As soon as my keys hit the bowl I am tackled with a hug. I gasp clutching onto my slushee refusing to let it hit the ground.
"I've missed you, shortie!" Ben says as he hugs me tightly.
I giggle and hug my brother back before I release him from the hug. I glance around him to see who he brought.
"Brie, this is Alexander Radulov, Miro Heiskanen, Tyler Seguin, and Jamie Benn. Jamie is the one that busted his ass on the puppy's toy." He smirks at the tall brunette who's cheeks were getting red.
I giggle and shove my brother's shoulder.
"I met Heiskanen at the all star gam this year." I smile at the young boy before looking at the other men.
"Thanks for helping I really appreciate it. I'm sure Benji has told you who I am. If not I'm his amazing little sister who is going to be working for the Stars. This is P.K. Subban." I introduce my best friend as if they had never seen him before.
My eyes lock on Jamie's before smiling. "I'm sorry that you fell on your ass. My dog is high maintenance and demands all the toys." I tease walking to the kitchen grabbing a bottle of Jack.
"Now let's get this party started." I smirk holding the bottle up so all the men can see it. I knew we would need alcohol in us to get this all finished not to mention we had three more hockey players coming over to help.
This could get very interesting.
