The locker room was loud and chaotic as I walk in.
I knew that the guys would be hyped up for this game since what had gone on in the previous games against Nashville, but now there was an extra piece of the puzzle. They have me and they want to prove to Nashville that they're the better team because I'm with them.
"Why are you not in green?!"
"Hey at least she isn't in gold or navy!"
"Oh my gosh she is Sweden today! She's neutral."
I give the boys a look before shaking my head.
"Oh my god, you dum dums. I'm not even in my work clothes." I murmur shaking my head at the boys.
"Babe!" Jamie whines looking at me.
I give him a look before shaking my head.
  "Chubbs." I whine mocking him.
"Hey hey. Be nice! We all actually have something for you." Jamie says glancing at coach before getting up and walking over to a box by the door.
I glance over at my brother to just see him laughing softly. He shrugs his shoulders before looking back to Jamie.
I turn my head towards my boyfriend who standing by the door looking at me.
"Just gonna stare at me or you gonna come over here?"
I roll my eyes at the dorky brunette before walking over to him.
"Coach decided you need to start you know looking like you're apart of the team. So, here's a backpack, a computer case because fuck your Nashville one, a basic zip up and leggings I voted sweatpants but I was outnumbered, hoodies so you don't need mine, and finally you have your own jersey. B. Bishop number 37. You also have one of your brother's and like a few different versions of mine because that way you can't complain about wearing the same jersey as half the population in the building."
My eyes scan over the box filled with different Dallas Stars gear. It was a bit nauseating seeing all the green in the box but the green was broken up by a black older looking jersey.
No way. He didn't give me his old Stars jersey. No way.
I have an unhealthy love for the old black jerseys that the stars wore. Apparently Jamie found out because there in the box was his old black Stars jersey with the gold and green detailing.
"Aw you guys. This is so cute. I love how you're trying to erase all of my Nashvilleness but you still take the number Nashville gave me." I tease before hugging and thanking Coach M who was there beside Jamie. I hug the boys before getting on my tip toes to kiss Jamie's cheek.
"Thank you, babe. Next time I need one of Jordie's old jerseys."
"Wow that hurt a little."
A soft giggle comes from my mouth before I shake my head.
"Should probably make my pregame speech now, yeah?"
"I mean you could always keep standing here with me."
"For all of our eyes and sanity please just give your pregame speech then get away from Jamie."
I snicker at Faska's words before walking to my spot beside coach.
"Well boys I hope you do well. We need these points. It's getting close to the playoffs. It's go time. Every point matters in keeping us in the number three spot. We can't just quit because we're in the three spot. Everyone is after us wanting this spot and the points. We have to fight hard and take as many shots on goal as possible. Yes I know tonight is a big game. You can feel the tension miles. Play smart. Play safe. Nashville is dirty when you take something that is theirs. I am their girl. Always will be. Nashville is my home base but you guys are my team now. I need you to win. Don't let your emotions get the best of you tonight. Focus on winning and protecting yourself and your team mates. If someone tramples over you or your line mate don't just sit there go after them. Being physical isn't always a bad thing. I love you boys. Play your hearts out. Go Stars."
I wink before patting Coaches shoulder and walking out of the locker room.
~
Tom and I stand by the tunnel waiting for the time to release the boys onto the ice. My face breaks into a happy smile seeing Jamie finally walk out of the locker room.
He walks over to me with his goofy smile that he usually has before he goes on ice and turns into big bad beast mode Captain Benn.
"Good luck, Cap. You're going to do great. Please don't try to kill P.K out there."
He chuckles shaking his head.
"You're wearing my jersey, my Dallas jersey to be exact. I don't have to shove him into the boards for him to realize that you're officially a Dallas girl now."
He pecks my lips as he holds onto my waist.
After I left the locker room earlier I, myself, had to get ready. After the Nashville morning skate I had to drop Jamie off at his place and come straight here to work with the creative team and had been busy until a few moments before I had to go pump the team up.
Since Jamie oh so kindly gave me his jersey I decided to put it to good use. I paired the black jersey with faux white leather pants and black heels.
"I like the jersey on you though. It looks good. I bet no one out there is going to have an authentic jersey like that. See you're going to be different so it'll be romantic."
I snicker shaking my head.
"You're still trying to win that argument."
He nods his head slight shifting from skate to skate.
"Hey you be safe tonight? Please. I really mean it, Jamie. This is your first game back and it's against Nashville and I know you want to be all rough and tough out there but I really want my boyfriend in one piece. I love you and I don't want you broken again. You weren't your normal self."
Jamie smiles and kisses me gently before simply humming.
"Have to go. I love you. You take it easy and enjoy this game."
He taps my butt before taking a running start and getting on the ice when they call his name.
"Yeah love you more dork." I mutter under my breath as I watch him.
I fist bump each boy as they skate out onto the ice only changing the motion up when Benji comes up to skate on the ice. I hug him before smacking his helmet.
  "Stop them pucks yeah?"
He chuckles before smacking my leg with his stick before skating onto the ice.
"Miss Bishop, I believe it is now your time to go reside in the WAGs box. The whole Dallas Stars team and crew has given you this night off so you can watch the game and get to know everyone."
I chuckle at Tom before shaking my head.
"Yeah yeah. You guys need help you know where I'll be."
Tom shakes his head before shoving me towards the hallway that leads to the elevator.
-
I hum a soft thank you to Richard, the elevator man, before stepping out into the hallway and making my way to the WAGs box. Of course I have seen these women around the arena but I have never met any of them as a girlfriend of the captain or in a formal meeting other than Shelby which is still an odd concept to wrap my head around.
I walk into the sweet smiling at Tj and Kollin who were standing guard at the door.
The first one to notice me was a gorgeous blonde.
She must have noticed from the jersey that I was there as a girlfriend.
"Oh my god! You're Bennies girl!" She squeals getting up and walking over to me with her drink in hand.
"I'm Therese Klingberg! I'm married to John."
I smile back at her warmly before nodding.
"I'm Brie. Uh I'm dating Jamie as you already know I guess." A nervous laugh escapes my mouth as almost all the women in the box were around.
"Everyone has heard about you! Apparently you're the only thing he talks about. John always comes in talking about how he wishes that Jamie wasn't such a love sick puppy. It's adorable though. It's obvious that Jamie is so in love with you. Oh my god I'm rambling again."
A smile spreads on my face as I listen to the female ramble. She reminds me so much of Josi's fiancé and it makes me incredibly happy since I miss Elli so much.
I listen as all the women introduce themselves before we all turn our attention to the game that was starting.
"So how has the transition from Nashville to Dallas been?"
I glance over at Lana who was to my left.
"I'm not going to lie it's been a bitch. I've acted like it nothing but it's really kinda made me a bit lit sad. It's hard to uproot your whole life it feels like and plant it in a new place. I miss my Preds all the ti-shit are you kidding me? Where's the defense? Miro, buddy, come on it's okay to fucking plow him over. I promise he can take it." I loose my train of thought as Arvy had skated into the Dallas zone with no problem and Miro had finally caught up to him and barely bumped into Viktor to get the puck.
"Sorry. Uh yeah I miss Nashville and my team back there all the time. I miss all the friends I have there. It's just been rough trying to figure out the city and the job and now work a new relationship with a very important person on this team. I guess what I'm trying to say is I've made a lot of adjustments in the past few months I've been here and it's been hard."
The talk starts to die down as the action on the ice starts to heat up.
My eyes are darting in each player seeing who all was out there. My stomach tightens seeing as Jamie was on the face off with Arvy. It wasn't usual for Chubs to take a face off when Ty was out there so I know there is an underlying plan.
As soon as the puck is dropped and Jamie makes sure the puck is in Dallas's possession he drops his gloves as well as Arvy,
I choke on my drink seeing as the pair go at it.
The heated fight turn causes P.K to go over to try and break it up. Him getting in the middles cause him to get hit by Jamie.
I shake my head standing up as if I was going to go stop it when in all honesty I was ready to run down to the tunnel afraid Jamie was hurt again.
My eyes scan the damage as the ref and linesmen finally pull P.K and Arvy from Jamie. I glance back at the tv seeing the fight closer. The boys look to be fine but I won't know until after the game.
~
The third period is winding to a close as Shelby and I watch intensely from the front set of seats. Jamie has been on hatty watch since the end of the first period and my stomach has been turning all night.
"So if he gets a hat trick is he getting a special celebration tonight?" Dominika asks giggling from behind me.
My cheeks flush as I glance at the woman behind me. My eyes go back to the ice having to pay attention.
The game is currently at a 4-2 with the Stars winning while there are two minutes and forty-eight seconds left in the game.
"You two haven't had sex yet have you? Oh honey! You have to get you some of that!" Therese giggles rubbing my shoulders.
"It will help your stress I promise. I've heard nothing but good things about his performance in bed from his ex. So don't be worried about that!"
A soft hum comes from my mouth as I start to tune the girls out.
I watch as Nashville pulls Pekka leaving the net empty and unattended to.
My eyes follow Jamie as he battles with Ryan for the puck. My heart starts speeding up as Jamie snags the rubber piece and he starts down the ice with it. He waits till he is in the right circle to shoot. It's like you can hear the swish dink as the puck hits the back of the net.
I let out a scream as I jump up cheering for my man.
"He got a hatty! His second hatty of the year!"
Shelby and I hug before we start chanting with the fans.
~
The last minute and a half was just as intense as the rest of the game no other fights breaking out other than an intense yelling match that my brother had with P.K and Forseberg and no goals were scored.
In the end the Stars pulled through with a 5-2 victory and Jamie got a hat trick.
Shelby, Therese, Dominika, Lana, and I are standing out in the hallway talking about the game when we hear male voices.
I turn around seeing Arvy, P.K, Jos, Ryan, Pekka, and Phillip walking down the hall.
I walk up to the boys hugging them all tightly.
"What the hell was that?" I instantly ask Arvy.
"What the hell is that?" He counters looking at the jersey I'm wearing.
I can't help the giggle that escapes my mouth as I look at the sleeves before up at the small hockey player.
"He was being extra chirpy tonight and he said the wrong thing and we dropped em'. Then P.K got hit so that's why he got involved. I'm perfectly fine thanks for asking though."
I roll my eyes before looking at the boys.
"This is where we have to say see you later isn't?"
My lips turn into a sad smile as they nod their heads.
I start blinking back the tears as I feel them start to surface.
This felt like my last night in Nashville all over again. I hate when I have to say see you later to these boys.
We all hug before P.K wipes my eyes.
"Come on, BB. Can't be cryin like that! Go congratulate your boy. He did amazing tonight. Reward him yeah?" He winks before hugging me one more and going to catch up with the other boys.
I laugh softly before turning back to the females I was with.
"I see why it has taken such a toll on you to transition."
My head nods before watching as the boys starting making their way out of the locker room. Each wearing happy smiles. This was a huge win for them so I don't blame them.
I wish Lana and Dominika goodbye as their men usher them away.
Ben, Jamie, John, and Tyler were the last ones out which meant that the last ones standing out in the hallway was Shelby, Therese, and I.
I hum soft congratulations to John and Tyler before hugging my brother.
"You did a great job bench warming tonight." I tease before turning my attention to Jamie.
He was smiling widely and holding his arms out for me.
I giggle and wrap my arms around his neck before jumping up.
"You did so good out there!" I murmurs against his lips as I kiss him passionately.
"Had a beautiful girl out in the stands to impress. Had to play my best you know." He teases before letting me down.
A blush forms on my cheeks as I tug on his hand.
"You're coming to my house tonight, yeah?"
I was about to tell him I can't but Tyler cuts me off.
"Yes She is. Ben will let me in to your place to get Prada. She'll have a doggy sleep over with Gerry, Cash, and Marshall."
I laugh softly before nodding.
  "I'll be over there captain."
He kisses me gently before I pull him into a hug.
I lean up and whisper in his ear.
"So captain do you have it in you to score one more goal tonight?"
Jamie looks at me before biting his lip.
A soft giggle escapes my lips.
I guess I'll just have to let him fighting slide tonight because I'm sure after we get done I won't have enough of a voice to scold him.
