"How is Jamie? Is he okay? No one told us anything. Brianna, fuck, just tell us!" Tyler almost yells as he sees me in the doorway.
I flinch slightly at his aggression. I understand his pain, frustration, and worry but it still wasn't enjoyable to be taking in all that.
"Tyler, give her some time. She is going to tell us. Just breathe. All of us are worried about Jamie and I am sure if it was serious they would have told us already." Spezza speaks up from his place in his little cubby.
My head bobs in agreement before I glance around the locker room.
"Jamie is stable and responsive. He specially told me to basically baby Tyler because he is a worrier. I promise guys that he is okay. He has a possible fracture in his nose and a large cut above his eyebrow that has to be stitched up. He is at the hospital right now being checked over once again making sure he is good to fly to Tampa. Mama Benn is keeping me updated. So far they have an iv in him giving him liquids, because he's dehydrated from the game, and morphine, for the pain."
I glance at the guys before smiling sadly.
"I promise I will send a text to the group chat as soon as I know something. Right now you all need to get changed and on the bus."
They all nod at my order before beginning to get out of their game clothes. I hum a thank you to Miro as he hands me Jamie's bag and phone.
I pat the young kid's back before walking out of the locker room.
"You did good tonight, kiddo. You handled that a lot better than I expected."
I hum holding the bag close to me as I look up at Tom Holly.
"The moms are all on the bus. I told them to just chill out there since the boys are frazzled and everything is a bit off tonight."
I nod my head smiling faintly up at him. I lean my head against his shoulder as he hugs me gently. He had became one of my closest friends since I got to Dallas probably for the fact that everything media wise I do has to go through him.
I wipe my eyes not wanting to start crying again. I lost it when I saw them wheel Jamie to the ambulance because they didn't trust his walking skills then I started crying again when Benji started towards the locker room and saw me.
"Hey hey. It's okay. Bennie boy is strong. This is nothing for him."
I nod my head glancing up at Tom.
He ruffles my hair before nodding me towards the exit.
I softly thank him before walking towards the bus.
I walk on stopping when the moms go silent.
I nod my head before setting Jamie's bag down in my seat.
"I hope none of you have to experience the hell this night has been again. I apologize for all the inconveniences and hiccups. None of this was planned and I apologize greatly." I struggle out trying to avoid the eye contact with my mom and Jackie.
The bus is filled with a bunch of positive motherly words.
I sit in my seat and pull the bag to my chest. I was trying to calm my nerves down but it just wasn't working.
"Brie baby, how are you? I have never seen you like this before."
I look up seeing my mom in the seat beside me and Jackie in the seat in front of me.
I sniffle shaking me head before looking down at the bag in my lap.
"Oh honey. It's okay. Look at me. Tyler has never got this beat up from a fight before but he's been hurt. It's scary I know. You don't know exactly how they are. You don't know when they get to go back to play. I get it. You have a right and reason to be upset."
I lean my head against my mom's shoulder as the tears roll down my cheeks.
"You have to stay strong for the team though, baby. They are looking to you for updates and strength right now."
I nod slightly glancing down at my phone seeing a text from Heather.
I laugh softly through tears.
From Mama Benn:
He keeps saying how he hates this bed because you're not in it with him. He is a little high on life right now.
To Mama Benn:
I would much rather be with him than here. The boys all took it rather well. Everyone is hoping that he is all well.
From Mama Benn
Jamie says to not worry about him and get you a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries.
To Mama Benn
God your kid is the best. Keep our boy entertained. I have a team to get to.
I wipe my eyes before looking at my mom and Jackie.
"You light up when you get texts about him or from him."
My cheeks heat up at the words from my mother.
"He's good for you. You are good for him." Jackie murmurs as she looks up hearing the boys outside the bus.
"I knew Jamie before he met you and I promise he's better with you. It's a good better. I have to go check on Tyler. He is going to be a mess." She laughs softly before going to her previous seat.
My mom simply holds me and rubs my shoulder and arm.
I glance up seeing Tyler walk in.
He looks at me his eyes red and bloodshot from fighting tears.
I swallow back the lump in my throat before standing up. I set Jamie's stuff down before wrapping Tyler in a hug.
I knew he needed some kind of physical reassurance.
I rub his back biting my own tears as he leans his head on my shoulder sniffling.
"He's okay, ty. I promise to you that he's okay."
He nods his head as his tears sink into my skin.
I mess with his hair moving us out of the way of the other players, all of which have a look of pure worry on their faces.
"He didn't get up. When I was talking to him he didn't say much. He felt like dead weight when we were getting him to the medics." Tyler hiccups out.
I hold him tighter as the tears roll down my cheeks.
"He's okay. I promise. If it makes you feel better I can FaceTime his mom so you can see him when we get to the hotel."
Tyler nods his head before wiping away his tears.
I pat him back before sitting down in my seat next to my mom. Ben has taken the seat behind me with Miro by his side.
"I had bourbon and champagne sent to your room."
I smile faintly glancing back at my brother. I squeeze his hand before looking at Miro.
The poor kid looks so shaken up and upset. It broke my heart a little.
"You okay?" The blonde kid asks looking at me with his innocent eyes.
"I'm hanging in there. I'll feel better wen Jamie gets back tonight. I just worry. I want him to be healthy but I also want him to be able to be able to play against tampa. It's just a lot."
He bobs his head before offering me one of his boyish smiles.
I ruffle his still damp hair before relaxing in my seat.

"Tyler, put the damn bottle down! You're not suppose to be drinking." I mumble as I set up my laptop so I can face time Heather with Tyler. I press the call button hoping that she would be able to answer.
The call connects and Heather's face appears.
"Oh hey you two."
I smile hearing Jamie chatting in the background.
"Yes, Jams. No, it's Brie and Tyler."
Tyler chuckles hearing Jamie whine loudly.
"Wow, thanks Chubs. I really thought you would be happy to know I'm worried about you."
I watch as Heather moves so she can hold the phone where we can see Jamie and he can see us.
I flinch seeing the dark purple bruising that was already around his eye.
"Yeah but like not around my girlfriend. She's too open and you have pretty. Wait no no." He chuckles at himself.
Heather wasn't lying when she said he was high on life. They must has gave him something stronger than morphine.
"She's too pretty and you have open? Mom that doesn't sound right."
Tyler and I laugh softly as we watch Jamie through the computer screen.
"Are you trying to say that he doesn't have boundaries? Yeah? Okay Tyler he says you don't have boundaries." Heather gets out managing to not laugh.
I snicker and shove Tyler's arm. He couldn't say it wasn't true. Tyler wanted to get down to his boxers but I stopped him. So now, he's just shirtless with a little ponytail of hair at the front of his head.
"How ya feeling, Champ?" I ask turning my brightness up a bit more.
"Like a million buck." He giggles. Actually fully completely giggles.
"I mean not really I'm uncomfortable and sleepy and I really want my girlfriend but she's with my annoying best friend because he's a bit of a dum dum sometimes."
We both snicker before Tyler whines again.
"I'm not annoying. Jamie stop bullying me. Would you rather your girlfriend crying alone in her room?" He counters raising an eye at Jamie.
Jamie turns serious, or as much as he can.
"B, you've been crying?" Jamie asks his words kinda slurred together.
I nod my head smiling slightly.
"Yeah I have. It's just a lot over here. I'm busy and worried and stressed. I hav deadlines I have to meet and players to take care of and moms to keep happy and I have to pack and get your things packed up because I'm not letting your mom be up packing her stuff and yours. It's a lot but I'm fine as long as you are."
Tyler squeezes my knee before looking at Jamie.
"I'm here taking care of her. Miro is coming over soon because we all know that kid is going to be more help to her than me. We will take care of her while we wait for your ass."
Jamie smiles faintly seeing satisfied with what Tyler said.
"Take care if my girl in like a platonic way."
I snort hearing the words from my boyfriend. I give Tyler a look before we both bust out laughing.
"Yeah that's the only way he'd take care of me I promise. Get some rest, JB. I will be waiting for you."
I end the call before putting my laptop away along with all the accessories for it.
"Let's go pack up Chubs things and then we can come back here."
"How about I go do that and you stay here and relax. Miro will be here soon so just relax and wait for him."
I watch as Tyler grabs the key to Jamie's room and walks out grabbing my bottle of bourbon with him.
"Jackass." I mutter under my breath before getting up hearing a knock at the door. It was soft so I knew it wasn't Tyler.
I open the door smiling at Miro.
This kid was so adorable in his sweat pants, hoodie, and messy hair.
I nod my head motioning for him to come in.
"Get comfortable. It didn't look like he was close to getting out of there."
And that's exactly what we did.
