My body shivers as Jamie pulls himself out of bed.
"You know it won't kill you to stay in bed past 7:30."
He just chuckles as he puts on a pair of boxers before walking to the bathroom.
I curl myself into his side of the bed as I close my eyes letting my body just relax for the time being while I listen to the sound of water and Jamie humming coming from the bathroom.
"You look overly peaceful. Maybe I should just leave you in my bed all day."
A soft hum comes from my mouth as I feel him kiss my temple.
"Maybe you should just get back in bed and stay here with me all day."
He chuckles shaking his head slightly.
"Come on, gorgeous. We have a whole day together. We have no meetings or skates or workouts or videos to edit. Camilla is running the social media accounts today just come on, please." He begs in his soft morning voice.
My lips turn into a soft smile as I look up into the whiskey colored eyes of my boyfriend.
"You gonna carry me today? The lower half of my body is sore as hell right now."
He smirks proudly down at me before pressing his lips against mine.
"Baby please. It'll be our first date day since last month. I promise once we get home we'll cuddle and do nothing."
A playful huff falls from my lips as I pull myself out of bed and grab his shirt from last night. I button it up on the way to the bathroom.
I turn my head hearing Jamie groan.
"You look amazing in just my shirt."
I giggle softly before pulling my hair up so I could wash my face and do my usual routine.
"Just wait until I'm in just your jersey. You'll loose your fucking mind."
A small smirk forms on my lips as he lets out a heavy breath.
"You're such a tease."
I smile and start getting ready for the day.
"What do I need to wear?" I ask in the midst of brushing my teeth.
Jamie chuckles and fixes his shorts that were over a pair of black athletic leggings.
"Oh so sporty casual. Great."
He wraps his arms around my waist as I spit out the toothpaste in the sink.
"I promise it'll be fun. Won't make you any more sore, promise."
I smile back at him before kissing his cheek and walking into the closet where I've stored some outfits since I've been here quite frequently in the few months we've been together.
I grab a pair of sport friendly underwear and a sports bra before grabbing a light gray tank top and a pair of black athletic leggings.
I pull on my clothes before putting Jamie's shirt on the counter in his closet.
"You're wearing a victory green bra!"
I playfully roll my eyes at Jamie's first remark.
Of course he would notice the fact that my sports bra was the same green color as the Stars jerseys.
I grab my new Dallas Stars zip up and slide it on my shoulders figuring it would be chilly outside as it had been for the last week.
"Look at you repping the Stars on your off day. We're really making you into a Dallas girl now."
I give Jamie a look before walking down the stairs.
"Mhm you keep saying that and I'm going to start wearing my Nashville hoodie and sweatpants to bed."
I walk into his pantry grabbing my travel mug to make my coffee and get Jamie his expresso fixed.
"Want your expresso to go?"
"Yes please! I have cups by the maker."
I look around in the pantry before noticing the Gatorade cups on top of the machine.
I shake my head before pressing the buttons for his expresso.
I walk back into the kitchen putting ice into my travel mug humming softly along to some song that was stuck in my head from the game last night.
"Domestic life suits you, babe."
A soft smile forms on my face feeling Jamie press his hand against the small of my back on the way to the pantry.
"Domestic life has never been my style. I mean certain people or places make me kinda think about having a more domestic life style but I just don't know. I'm young right now. I don't have to be domestic and cook and clean and fold clothes all day." I murmur as I fix my coffee with almond milk and sugar and vanilla flavor.
Jamie leans against the counter behind him smiling at me.
"You are so beyond your age, hon. I hope you realize that. No one I know was this wise and so focused at your age."
I glance up at him a gentle smile on my face.
I never really take the time to realize that not every twenty-four year old acts like I do. I mean I realize that not every twenty-four year old has a great and stable job like I do or has as much money as I do but like i have been surrounded by older people my whole life I guess I just don't realize the big differences. I took online college so I could intern with some SPHL teams then I interned with Boston and then Edmonton. Most of the people I was around were older then me.
"I've grown up a lot since I got out of high school that's for sure. I wasn't as calm and collected when I was with Boston or the SPHL."
Jamie kisses my temple before walking towards the garage.
"Well I'm glad you've calmed down. Pretty sure if you were more wild Tyler would steal you from me and you two would be best friends."
"Jamie Randolph are you not putting a lid on your coffee?"
He snickers before shaking his head as he pulls himself into his large car.
"You're going to spill that on you and I'm going to laugh because you deserve it."
I take a sip of my coffee as I get into his large vehicle and buckle up.
I turn up the radio as he pulls out of his driveway and starts on our journey.
A soft giggle escapes my mouth as Jamie starts singing along to the radio.
His hand squeezes on my thigh before taking ahold of the wheel.
"You know if you had a lid on your coffee you could put it down in the cup holder and like hold my hand but it's okay."
"Are you going to chirp me about this all day?"
"Yes! You need to put a damn lid on your coffee!"
Jamie rolls his eyes before pointing to the ceiling where there were little compartments.
"Can you get my sunglasses?"
I press the little button before taking the glasses and holding them out to Jamie.
"Need me to put these on you, princess, so you don't need put down your coffee?"
"Oh fuck me! Hold my damn coffee and bite it."
I snicker and take his coffee so he could put his sunnies on. I gasp when the coffee sloshes over the side and burns me.
"Oh fucking hell! Fuck that hurts."
I huff looking over at Jamie who coughed on his laughter.
"Pipe it, dumb ass! This wouldn't happen if you had a lid on it."
Jamie takes his coffee before drinking it gently.
I lick the coffee off my hand before pouting at my boyfriend.
"You owe me for that one!"
Jamie smirks over at me before putting his coffee down in the cup holder once it was at a safe level in the cup.
"I mean I have a few ways I can make it up to you."
"Mhm you do. I bet you have a lot since you have to find was to make up to women without using the bunch mox method."
A heavy groan falls from my boyfriends lips as he takes a turn into a smaller road.
"That was years ago! I've learned from then. I've had people who've taught me the importance of going down on your girl."
I snicker before looking out the window.
"How many lectures from Tyler have you gotten about that?"
"Oh my god everyone brings it up. Right after wasn't fun because everyone in the locker room and on the ice was chirping me now it's kinda just like come on really?"
"You have to admit it's hilarious. Like it's belly laugh hilarious and you know it."
Jamie shakes his head still smiling.
"No it's not." He chuckles before putting the car in park.
I glance out the window finally realizing that we were parked.
"Really?"
Jamie smiles and nods his head getting out of his Bentley.
"A rather tall and lanky birdie told me how much you love horses and I got this bright idea. I mean of course when I planed this I didn't plan on you being as sore as you are but I'm sure you'll be fine. If not I'll kiss it and make it feel better after."
My arms find their way around his waist as I hug him.
"Thank you babe." I murmur glancing up at him.
He leans down kissing me gently.
There were many times that our height clashed and trying to have sweet moments that end in a kiss was a prime example of that.
"Now let's go ride some horses, y'all."
"Oh my god Jamie! Don't ever anything like that again!"
"You love it!"
"I love you! Not whatever the hell that was. There's a difference."
"Aw she loves me!"
I smile shaking my head at the dork beside me.
I really did find myself a keeper.
