Tori Blake’s POV
In the morning, I was rethinking about the day before. Was Taylor and the friendship between us really over? She had always been one of those whores that were in everybody’s pants. Even Elle agreed. But most of all, I embarrassed her! I EMBARRASSED TAYLOR RIZZLER AND I WAS PROUD OF IT! I wasn’t going to back down like some scared coward. HELL TO THE NO!
“What you thinking about?” My mom asked.
I shook my head. Did I just laugh out loud? “Oh…uh. Nothing much. Thinking about a joke that…Cy—I mean Elle did,” I had stuttered with hesitation.
Shit…I was caught. Red handed. Haha.
“It’s boys isn’t it?” My mom gave a sly grin.
She was onto me. I needed back up. “So…I—” I was cut off when I wanted to change the topic.
“What do you think you’re doing? Hiding from your old mom? Don’t even think about it. I want to know who. And how he looks and his body,” my mom said getting personal.
“UGH! Really?”
“Or you won’t go to school today,” she threatened.
This was a life or death choice. Not exactly. But you don’t know my mom. She’s a nosy person. A nonsecret keeper.
“Promise not to tell?” I asked.
“Mhm,” she nodded eagerly.
“Ok, fine,” I sighed annoyingly. I was late-ish, “There’sanewboyatschoolcalledCyrusandithinki’mfallinginlovewithhimbuttaylorandiarearguingoverhimandyeah,” I said in a blur.
“Cyrus? Cyrus what?” My mom wiggled her eyebrows.
“Uh! I’m gonna be late! Oh and Taylor won’t be coming often!” I yelled as I walked out the door running.
“WHY!” My mom screamed but I was gone.
Great. Nosy mother. Probably going to tell dad. And the neighbors. AHHH. I got to school late by seven minutes. I burst through the door of English class. Ms. Dapes looked at me with a scrunched up look. She had horrible eyesight.
“Tori? Tori Blake? You’re late. By seven minutes. Normally if it was five, we’d let it go. But really?” Ms. Dapes questioned.
“No. There’s a good reason. My mom was asking me about something! She held me back!” I cried out.
“Blaming it on your mom? Classic get away. But if it was true, you’d tell me what it was about?”
I was doomed. How could I tell the whole class about Cyrus when he was in this class? I spotted for Cyrus. He wasn’t here…where was he? Suddenly, someone emerged into the room. All heads turned to look. It was Cyrus.
“Cyrus? Cyrus Hilton?” Ms. Dapes squinted.
“Yes?”
“I hate to tell you this. But you’re late by ten minutes. If it was five them we’d let you off for first offense. I’m sorry. But you and Tori will be attending detention, together.”
I grinned. The way Ms. Dapes said together gave me a smile. Who cares about detention? As long as no one else but Cyrus and I were there, it’d be great.
“Ok,” I pretended to be sad.
We sat down on our seats and I saw Cyrus give a little smile to me. Was this flirting? A sign?
