Cyrus Hilton’s POV
I was stupid. What did I just do just then? The minute I walked out the door…I immediately regretted the decision. I should’ve stayed no matter what the parents said and went to go comfort her. Was she mad? Does that mean that she broke up with me?
I biked home and rushed straight into my house running into my dad, spilling coffee all over his new suit. He snarled at me.
“What’s the rush? You know how much this cost me? I’m taking it out of your college fund.”
The words went into one ear and out the next as I ran to my room. Picking up my cellphone I saw that there were no texts. I had to apologize.
“Ohmygod…what the fuck should I say?” I panicked as I spoke to myself.
She was on…on
Me: Hey…you still mad at me, babe?
I decided to throw in a little something something.
Elle: First of all, don’t call me babe. Second of all, don’t hey me. I’m not your friend. I’m not your girlfriend. And I’m certainly no classmate of yours.
I could imagine her snarling at me.
Me: I…look, Elle, I’m sorry for whatever that caused you mad.
Elle: Wow…you actually DON’T know what I’m mad at you for. Guess you’re not just a jerk…a clueless one too.
Me: SERIOUSLY! Just please tell me wat I did wrong? I just told you the truth! Nothing but the truth!
After what I wrote, Elle didn’t reply. She was ignoring me.
Elle: If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t have long term memory before, taylor wouldn’t be in jail, and tori certainly wouldn’t be caught in our love life…iknow…it’s all your fault!
Me: I’m sorry. What else could I do? You three were all crushing on me!
Elle: Ok…I get it. So now its all our fault. Great…what a supportive ex.
Me: I just don’t understand why girls can be all pissy and bitchy at once.
Elle: What? What was that? I just burst your bubble or something. I’m not being bitchy. Yes, I am pissed, but that’s how YOU treat me? Yeah…you definitely weren’t worth chasing after.
Me: Ok, im sorry. I didn’t mean it in THAT way. But still, I don’t know what I did wrong! I decided that that time wasn’t the best time so I left before ur parents would ask me and all that shit. Y’know?
Elle: Stop giving me these goddamn excuses! They aren’t going to work! You know I was hurt becuz you told me but you could’ve rushed to my room! Comfort me and calm me down? But you just walked out the door and left me tangled in my own feelings. You odnt get it because you’ve prob had a million gf and you always had to break up with them. You don’t understand. Just, you know what? Leave me alone. Ok?
I was speechless. I seriously didn’t know what I did wrong. I had to! I didn’t have a million girlfriends.
Me: you’re the girl I really liked. Im not going to explain anymore.
I gave up. I wasn’t going to waste my time explaining nothing to someone that didn’t get it. Elle never replied back so I turned off my laptop and got under the covers, rubbing my face.

I woke up and realized I was late. Cussing under my breathe, I hurriedly showered and didn’t bother spraying on deodorant. It was Thursday, my last day. I dressed into my plaid flannel and a pair of slim jeans before slipping on my Vans shoes. Then I remembered, I didn’t need to impress anyone. Elle was gone anyways. I poured some gel onto my hands, rubbed my palms and brushed it through my hair. A few strands stuck up and I molded my hair into a faux hawk. Then I biked off to school.
I caught up to Tori and tapped her. She turned around and frowned.
“What the hell do you want?” she sneered looking at me from up to down.
“What? Now you’ve got something against me? I didn’t do nothing to you!” I scoffed.
“But you messed with my friends so you mess with me. You should leave Elle alone. She doesn’t want to see you, talk to you, or even mention you,” Tori rubbed it in my face.
“I-I-you really don’t get it. I mean, I’ve tried my best to explain why! And you’d probably not want to listen about it either. And now, I’ve lost everything. Everything that mattered to me,” My head dropped to the ground.
Tori tilted my head up, “Hey, don’t worry about it. I-she’s right over there. Please try to fix it. Please try.
Tori’s eyes filled with sympathy as I turned around and walked towards Elle.
“Elle…” I called out to her.
Elle slowly turned around. She looked prettier than ever. Her brown hair was curled and her eyes were glistening. She smiled shyly.
“Cyrus…” she trailed off and came up to hug me.
“I’m so sorry, Elle. I might’ve misunderstood you but that doesn’t keep me from loving you. Even if we’re miles apart, I’ll never forget you,” I comforted her.
“Cyrus, it’s fine. It was partially my fault too. I-I love you,” she said.
Then the unimaginable happened. Our lips touched and we were locked into a kiss. I grabbed her hips and we balanced on a wall as our tongues touched. We only stopped to breathe.
“I love you too, babe,” I soothed.
“I-I just can’t believe you’re leaving!” Elle exclaimed.
“I know, I can’t believe it too.”
“But, Cyrus. I don’t think it’s possible for us to handle a relationship this many miles apart. It’s long distance, that’s so much trouble! I-I think we should just stay friends and SKYPE once in a while,” Elle said.
My heart stopped. Was this the end to our relationship? It couldn’t be.
“Wh-I don’t get what you mean, Elle,” I said.
“I just think it isn’t right. I don’t think I can handle a long distance relationship along with my grades! I-I’m so sorry,” she said.
“But, we just kissed! Now you’re telling me that we’re just friends? That’s like saying your dog died but I can still keep him… don’t you see what I’m saying?” I blurt out.
“I know, but, y’know. It just wouldn’t work out. I mean…” Elle trailed off.
“Stop,” I rose my hand up, “I-I have to go now.”
“Wait!” Elle called out.
I was fuming in anger. After I apologized, that was what I got? A break up? I don’t give a damn if it was long distance. If you love someone, you stay with them. What a traitor. I felt a hand touch my shoulder and I shook it off not bothering to look behind me.
