Hey guys, i feel this chapter is sort of crappy. It's been super difficult for me recently because of college and stuff, so all my books are going down hill lmao. I'm sorry if this isn't very impressive ( I say this every chapter lol) but you all wanted a update so. Thanks for reading :)

Dinner was ate mostly in silence. Nobody really said a word to each other after the incident with the business woman. It had seemed to mute everyone. The only sound was cutlery clinging together as everyone finished their food, intensifying the rooms atmosphere.

Leah felt sick, unable to eat. She clenched her knife and fork in her hands, not realising how hard she was squeezing onto it until Jared placed his hands on hers, causing her to jump up and look towards him.

His eyebrows were scrunched together in concentration as he eyed her." You've been doing that a lot more recently." Jared commented, and Leah chocked back a word, not knowing what to say to him.

Instead, she faced down and forced the food down before Jared noticed something was wrong. The air had changed for Leah. It wasn't sweet anymore- well, it never was. She had been blinded and tricked, and she had no idea how she had been so stupid to think any of this was okay. That any of this was, love.

After dinner, Leah noticed Jared scratching at his leg, a habit she noticed he'd attached himself to when he felt awkward. It must've been the family dinner. He soon stood up and took her to the living area, in which Jared sat down on the worn out, old fashioned sofa's that were barely used.

Leah looked at him, and he rose his arms out for Leah to climb onto his knee. She didn't hesitate, but a cringe consumed her body almost instantly as his rough, filthy hands roamed about her body. She could feel herself squirming against him, and she needed to quit it. Leah couldn't stop her head from wandering around the room, doing anything to avoid eye-contact with Jared

" Me and dad were talking today," Jared said.

" Oh.." was all she said, avoiding asking questions.

"I was going to tell you earlier, but we were disrupted," Jared began. " Dad thinks we should move into that house we inherited that Taylor told us about. He said you're ready."

Leah's ears pricked right up at these words, and her eyes were forced towards him. She pushed her glasses up her face before gripping him before she fell. " Really?" She asked.

" Yeah," Jared smiled at her, before leaning up and hooking is arms around her waist. " I'm so happy we're finally allowed to go there. I've thought about it ever since I found out that place would be our home one day."

Images of them together on this brand new farm in some other rural area flooded through Leah's head. Just her and Jared. Nobody else. Here, she had Lindsay to distract her from her current situation; that was most likely why Leah had been so oblivious to the truth in the first place. They said and did things that took her from reality. If Leah just lived alone with Jared and their unborn child, her circumstances would push her back into the illusion. That Jared and his family really cared her.

Leah's heart rate had increased, and she had to push her nails into her palms to calm herself down.

" Aren't you happy?" Jared asked, and Leah realised she hadn't replied.

" Oh! Of course I am." Leah rushed out.

Jared smiled, not detecting her lack of genuineness. He didn't know a persons mind and perception of another could change so quickly. He hadn't been in this position to try it himself- he was the one who created these positions.
