Rhydian's POV

I woke up a few hours later with a major headache. I looked around and saw that I was surrounded by bodies lying on the ground. Some were dead while others, like me, had only been knocked unconscious and apparently forgotten. "Rhydian? Rhydian!" I didn't turn around until I heard the voice call again. Evangelista. Turning around, I saw her beautiful self standing there with her pretty green eyes and beautifully messed up, tangled, scarlet hair. She had bruises, cuts, and bandages all over her but she was still beautiful nonetheless. She was leaning on a pair of crutches with a worried look on her face which turned to relief and more worry when she saw my face.

"Evangelista!?" I asked, so relieved to see her. She crutch-walked over to me and threw them down, falling into the patch of grass next to me. "Where the hell were you? He almost killed Lissa and me." She said as I cupped her cheek with one hand, the other bringing her in for a hug. "I'm sorry. He knocked me out. Are you alright?" I asked as I pulled back and observed her wounds.

"Rhydian! You're going to die with an injury that bad." Evangelista screamed as I looked down. "I wasn't injured. Just... lightly stabbed." I said to try to calm her down. "What!" She asked as she brought out a roll of gauze she had from her cargo pants pocket. "I didn't want to scare you too much. Lightly stabbed." I repeated as she rolled her eyes. "This is really not funny at all." She said as I began to laugh, making her crack a smile.

"I win." I said as she slapped my shoulder lightly and continued to wrap the gauze around my arm where I had almost got it sliced off the rest of my arm. "What, you want a prize?" She asked, still smiling from my earlier joke. "I think a kiss should so it." I said as she laughed, stopping her hands for a minute as she tried to tear the gauze. "That's quite expensive." She replied as I pouted looking up at her from where I lay on her lap, head on her good thigh.

"Fine." She gave in, leaning down. I pulled her chin down to my lips as she planted a kiss on my nose, and then on my lips. "I love you Rhydian." She whispered, keeping the moment intimate and close. I looked up at her, taking all her features in. She was fascinating and the most beautiful I'd ever seen, even in her broken state. "I love you too, Evangelista. I will love you when all of time and space dies, and even after that.

Never forget that." I said back as she shook her head, leaning it against mine as we sat in the middle of the field, all alone.
