I suppose I had passed out. Because I woke up feeling very different. I realized that I felt so... so much...better. Then the events came flooding back and hit me like a train. The hurt, the girl, the bite, the change. I had completely drained the blood of a human. I was officially a Strigoi. Usually, the thought of this should have sent me into panic mode but instead, I realized I liked it. Looking around, I realized the sun would be coming up soon. Even as the Moroi I used to be, I needed to find shelter because the sun would really hurt me. But that was going to be a problem. Not many places would be willing for me, a Strigoi, and I had no intention of joining others. But where would I go? As I wandered back to the academy, I found I couldn't enter the grounds as the warding was probably too strong.

After scoping out the surrounding areas of the academy, I found an abandoned house in the middle of the surrounding forest. It was huge, practically a mansion. But other than that, it practically blended into nature which was perfect. Going inside and taking a quick look around, I realized it was actually nice and much bigger from the inside. Looking up at the large windows, I realized that I didn't have any time to block out the windows before the sun came up. Not seeing any other choice, I went down to the basement where lucky for me, there were no windows. Unfortunately, there also wasn't any reception or anything that could help me pass the time. Pacing around I realized that I could still smell the scent of the previous occupants. A man and a woman and maybe a ... boy? Girl? It really was too bad that they were gone now because they smelled so good. Not seeing what else to do, I waited there until the sun went down again.

When it got dark again I knew it was safe to emerge. I was so thirsty. I needed someone to drink. I went out and almost immediately found a happy couple walking and laughing. Their happiness made me sick. I waited in a dark alley for them to pass by. When they did, I grabbed them and bit into them, sucking them dry. I threw their limp, innocent bodies on the ground, annoyed at the small amount of blood they had. Then, I decided I needed a drink of a different kind. I went to the nearest bar and ordered a martini. While waiting for my drink I heard a crash and a thud as a bar fight broke out. People started screaming and trying to stay out of the way. I just turned back around and ignored it as the bartender handed me my drink. "So what's your story?" She asked.

"What?" I looked up at her confused. "Any guy who goes to a bar alone has something eating at his soul." She said, matter of factly. "No, I'm fine. A little lonely though." I winked, hooking her in. I saw her blush as I looked her up and down. "Well... I do get off in this shift in about 20 minutes so maybe I could help. Do you want to meet me out back?" She asked, clearly wanting to help. "I'd love to." I smiled, a plan forming in my mind. I finished my drink and as she said, 20 minutes later, I was waiting in the back alley and soon heard her footsteps. I was so eager I could smell her coming, her blood, and warmth calling to me. I wiped the hungry look off my face as she came around the corner. "Hi." she smiled.

"Well hello!" I grinned and wrapped her in a hug. Soon enough, we were kissing. I almost laughed as I thought to myself that if this girl really didn't mind meeting random guys she didn't know in back alleys, she's gonna get killed eventually anyway. I licked her neck as she giggled. She smelled so good. I opened my mouth and bit into her throat. She cried out in surprise, pain, and fear until the endorphins took over. Like any other drug, soon she was gone, totally out of it and unknowing to the fact that her demise was minutes away. She started moaning in pleasure as I drank all her blood. She tasted so sweet. When I finished her, I left her empty body on the ground in the alley.

I spent the rest of the night putting up blackout curtains on the windows so that not a ray of sunlight could get in. It was a time-consuming job and took me all of 4 hours, up until the sun came out. Then, it was time to make up a plan. I wasn't just going to sit around in the house, waiting for the sun to go down. The memories of Evangelista kissing Rhydian were constantly burning in the back of my head, causing me constant pain. She had never stopped loving him, even when she was with me. And maybe she never really was "with" me but everything she had said about giving me a chance was a lie. Angry thoughts clouded my mind as I drew up a plan.

Soon, it was almost sundown. With the new Strigoi vision I had, it seemed a million times more intense. Pink hues melted into purples and oranges. Blues and greens came from the bottom and at the top was an orange and yellow shade. It was... breathtaking, even as a Strigoi. But soon my skin began to ache, probably from the sun exposure. I sighed and closed the blinds because as soon as the sun went down, I would go find her. She would pay for the pain she has caused me. And knowing her she wouldn't go down without a fight. Well... same here.
