Hunter headed outside early in the morning while still in his pajamas to sit on the porch and watch the sun rise. It was something he loved doing ever since he had been released from the cellar he'd been raised in. It was a tradition he'd hoped to start sharing with his father before the day that Adam had been killed by vampire intruders.

As he sat on the porch watching the sun rise, something quickly caught his eye. Demons had gathered on the lawn across the street, but they weren't focused on Hunter, their attention was on something on the lawn.

"Did you really think you could get away from the Lord of Hell that easily?" a demon asked as the group started punching and kicking in unison.

Hunter wondered what had drawn their attention as he walked across the street without shoes or a robe, not even registering on their radar until it was far too late. By the time the demons noticed the boy, he'd already vaporized them from the inside out, letting their dead bodies drop to the ground as he looked down at the unconscious young man on the grass.

"Help... me." Jack whispered as his head fell back on the grass, closing his eyes as he once again lost all consciousness.

"Okay, it's agreed that we need to kill Lucifer," Asher said as he led Matt, Connor and A.J. toward his pick-up truck. "Which means we need a psychic to track him down. We need Ritchie."

"We need an army," Matt told him. "Five of us against Lucifer? That's suicide. We need Ben, and Samandriel, and what happened to your older brother?"

Asher paused while his hand on the truck's door handle.

"Mike died," Asher whispered. "He had a brain tumor that he never told me about. At least until the day that--"

Asher trailed off as Connor put a hand on his arm. "I'm sorry."

"Samandriel's dead and Ben's... gone," Asher said as he turned toward Mike. "Our most powerful allies have dropped off the map and Jesse's the enemy now. Maybe Prometheus and Sandy are still out, I don't know. But unless we happen upon them, we're it. We're the last chance humanity has, Matt. And I'm not about to lay down and die because I don't have any fancy gimmicks or abilities. Mike taught me better than that. So, get your ass in the truck so we can kill the devil."

"I like him." A.J. said said as he climbed into the truck bed as Asher watched.

"I still can't believe that's Adam." Asher said as he unlocked the door.

"Genetically it's Adam, but A.J. is a completely different person," Matt told him. "A.J.'s not a hunter, he doesn't know pain or loss, and I damn sure want to keep it that way. He may be growing up in this mess of a world, but I want to keep him innocent for as long as possible."

"That's how Adam wanted to raise Hunter," Connor said as they got into the truck cab. "He wanted his little boy to--"

"Little boy?" Matt asked. "Does Adam have a kid?"

"You never told him about Hunter?" Asher asked Connor.

"I was suffering from blood withdrawal, there wasn't a lot of time for small talk." Connor asked innocently.

"Adam has a son, and he's missing at the moment," Asher told him. "He's got powers, too, so he won't be found unless he wants to be. Hopefully he's been safe this whole time. Right now we need to focus on Ritchie, and then he can lead us to everyone that's left."

"Bloodiest. Road trip. Ever," Sandy said as sat by the pond, wringing his bloody shirt out. "Not that I'm complaining, I do like a good demon killing spree."
