RAPHAEL
Castiel, having prevented Raphael's human vessel from teleporting away, snapped his fingers and exploded the body into a smear on the wall before turning to face more pressing matters.
Now that was uncalled for. I knew allying myself with a common angel would be a mistake. He double crossed me and took the souls from Purgatory all for himself, leaving me a bloody mess. But somehow it didn't kill me. I was blown to atoms, but my atoms were still alive. It took time, but I slowly was able to reassemble myself over the next decade. But spending that much time as a disassembled archangel, you have a lot of time to think.
About the grand plan of the universe. About your place in it. Of all the insignificant creatures that inhabit the world that should rightfully be yours. And most of all, I thought about all of those who had betrayed me. My brothers for betraying the planned apocalypse; The Winchesters who destroyed an eternity of planning; Castiel for double crossing me; and most of all my father, who had abandoned his children. I wanted revenge, and the second I was whole again, I would have it.
But I'd need a body, first. A powerful body, one that could hold an archangel with melting. Then Lucifer delivered one right to my doorstep.
*
"I'll give you the way to restore your powers," Lucifer promised Jesse as he talked to him through a dream, one that Raphael was conveniently listening in on. "But in return you have to free me from this Chuck-forsaken world."
My brother wouldn't just let this boy walk away, not with his level of power that could threaten him. Besides, Lucifer now had a son that he'd put before this child. This anti-christ was as good as dead, I just had to wait and move in quickly to claim the body before it was too late.
Luckily I only had to watch this brat for a few weeks until he finally made good on his promise and freed Lucifer from the void.
"So, what now?" Jesse asked as he stood in front of Lucifer.
"Now," Lucifer said as he put his hands on Jesse's shoulders. "I go find my real son, who is in every way better than you."
Lucifer quickly snapped Jesse's neck, letting the young man fall dead to the ground. When Lucifer departed seconds later, a white cloud of energy filtered into Jesse's body and taking it for himself.
I'd made it just in time. I could feel the anti-christ's powers running through me, adding to my own power. But there was a small catch.
"Hey, get out of my body!" Jesse shouted from within his own head less than an hour later. "There's only room for one omnipotent being in this place!"
"And that's me," Raphael told him as he grabbed the young man around the neck. "You're powerful, but you're still a boy. And that's all you'll be from here on out."
Inside of Jesse's mental plane, Raphael turned Jesse into a 10-year-old boy, dragging him toward his childhood home and slamming him to the floor.
"Enjoy eternity, child," Raphael told him. "This is your forever home. Never leave this place or I will kill you permanently."
I'd later found out that a witch had given Jesse a revival charm that kept him from dying, which is why he'd momentarily annoyed me. I'd have to kill this witch later when I found her. In the meantime, I had work to do, starting with taking over Hell itself.
Lucifer had gone on the run. He'd sensed my return and decided to leave his throne in Hell. Probably figured I'd find a way to unleash Michael to kill him once and for all. While letting Michael loose was in the cards, I needed Lucifer alive to maintain my power. Powers that were only starting to grow.
