Raphael the Archangel has become all-powerful after a long time of planning. He's possessed the body on the antichrist Jesse; he's consumed the lost grace of thousands of angels and he's removed everyone that's a threat to him. All that's left if the last group of heroes that have banded together at the home of the comatose Adam Milligan...

"About time those damn psychic powers did something," Hunter said as the group of heroes emerged from a garage across the street, seeing the house was now a pile of burning rubble. Ritchie had sensed the explosion coming and warned his friends just in time. "Our home."

"It'll be okay," Todd said as he put a hand of his friend's shoulder. "We're all alive, that's what counts."

"But for how long?" Jack asked in barely a whisper. "Raphael now knows where we are. We have no safe place to hide."

"Then we find a place," Hunter told them. "We keep running if we have to. But I'm not giving up. I've lost too much to just give up. And if he has Uncle Jesse... I have to save him. I have to."

"The archangel with a whole lake's worth of grace running through him AND the powers of the antichrist?" Ritchie asked. "Yeah, we can just waltz right up and beat the archangel out of him."

"Which is the plan," Asher said as he walked up with Ritchie and Sandy. "We can beat him."

Ritchie saw Lucas as the two immediately embraced. Lucas pulled back, touching Ritchie's face. Before they could say anything, Prometheus pulled them apart.

"Have your reunion sex later, we got work to do," the demigod told them. "We know how to beat Raphael. We have the tablet and the means to read it. We have a small army. What else is left?"

"We need a hiding space," Todd told them. "I say we throw caution to the wind and use the Men of Letters bunker. Even if Raphael's got his eyes on the place, we have enough to hold him off while we work on a game plan. And if he thinks we're all dead, that could buy us more time."

"Then let's hit the road," Asher said as he looked at Hunter. "Glad you're alive, kid. Your Dad will be glad to hear it when he wakes up."

"Wait a minute, wakes up?" Hunter asked. "My Dad is alive?"

Asher and Matt looked at each other.

One hour long explanation later

"I don't believe this," Hunter said as he sat on the sidewalk. "For months I thought my Daddy was dead. He's been in this town the whole time?"

"You just up and vanished without a trace," Asher told him. "We've been searching for you all this time, kid. Even before I lost my brother, I wanted to find you and take you in, keep an eye on you for Adam. If I knew you were still in the same house..."

Hunter wiped away his tears as he looked up at his friends. "If he's still alive, we have to take him with us before Raphael kills him."

"It does feel like he's trying to wipe out any loose ends," Prometheus said. "We should bring him with us. It's not like taking him out of the hospital will hurt him any worse."

"The last time you two danced with Raphael, he handed you your asses," Asher said. "Jack, you seem stronger now. Take Todd and his magic belt along with Ritchie as an early alert system. The rest of us will head to the bunker and make sure it's clear."

Raphael tossed a battered Cole back into his cage as the door slammed shut.

"Reapers are such fun playthings," Raphael said. "And you still know how to scream. Little Jack stopped screaming after a few weeks. Now, where are we with the plan?"
