"Hello?" I asked

"Hello?" I asked.

"Kiya, hey!" The voice on the other end of the phone said.

"Who is this?" I asked yet another question, looking at my watch that was on my wrist.

There were about twenty or so minutes until I had to meet the new kid Michael at the park on avenue, and for some reason I wanted to look good.

He's already seen me in a slightly messy state, considering I was rushing to class when we bumped into each other. But he intrigued me, and I think that's why I was so confident when being around him.

"Teddy!" The voice on the other end replied, and I tried to stop the small smile that crept on my face.

"I must've gotten rid of your number after everything happened. Oops." I let out a chuckle. "What is it you need?"

"I was wondering if maybe we could meet up for dinner, continue the talk we had earlier. You had to get to class so we couldn't really finish it." Teddy suggested.

"That sounds great!" I said, before remembering why I was standing in front of my closet in only a bra and underwear in the first place. "But I can't. I'm meeting a friend at seven-thirty."

"Oh." Teddy sounded disappointed. "Well I hope you have fun with her, whoever she is."

"Him, actually." I corrected, pulling a dress out of my closet and holding it up to myself in the mirror.

"Smokin'." I complemented myself, before shrugging and throwing the dress on my bed. It was a maybe, but I definitely didn't want to dress up as if it were a date, or make myself over dressed if we're simply touring the town.

"Him?" Teddy's voice cracked slightly.

"Yes, his name's Michael. He's new at my college and I offered to show him around the town." I said without emotion.

I knew Teddy was bothered by this, but Michael and I are only friends - just the way Teddy and I are.

"Right. Okay, well I better let you go, have fun." He cleared his throat.

"Mhm. Bye." I hung up the phone, throwing it on my vanity to continue looking through the closet.

It was obvious I was going to be late, so I might as well be fashionably late to makeup for making Michael wait in the first place.

The weather was slightly chilly, for it being nice out earlier, so I don't want to wear something revealing too much skin.

Finally deciding on an outfit, I quickly got changed and put some deodorant and perfume on. I'd chose a black skirt and a sweater, putting on some black thigh high socks along with it.

Throwing on a pair of shoes that matched the outfit, I brushed through my hair and looked into the mirror.

"This is missing something." I mumbled to myself. Quickly tucking the ends of the sweater into my skirt, I smiled.
