Standing in the kitchen, I took a bite of one of the cookies I made for Teddy and I. We were craving them for some reason so we both began to make them, but then Teddy got distracted with something on the TV.

Frowning, I moved my foot to see a puddle on the ground, soaking my sock. "Teddy, hon, did you spill water on the ground?" I asked, trying to remember the last time he was in the kitchen.

"Did I?" He questioned, walking into our small kitchen. It was the perfect size for him, me and the baby, and I couldn't be more than glad he found the perfect house for the three of us. "I don't remember getting water recently but it could have been from earlier when I was finishing up setting the crib up-" He stopped in his tracks, his eyes focused on my legs. "I don't think that was me," He spoke again, and I furrowed my eyebrows as I looked down, seeing he was right.

It wasn't him, it was me, meaning my water just broke.

"Holy-" I stopped, putting the cookie onto the counter. "This is happening," I breathed, and Teddy's eyes widened.

"THIS IS HAPPENING!" He exclaimed, running into the foyer to grab my slides and the bag we prepared. Of course we were expecting it, but I wasn't ready or expecting it so soon. He helped me slide my shoes on as he slid his own on and we wasted no time in exiting the house and getting into the car.

I began the feel contractions then, and I breathed heavily as Teddy began to quickly drive to the nearest hospital, calling my family as he did so. He called my parents first then they told him to focus on getting me to the hospital while they got ahold of everyone else. The contractions only got worse over time, and tears filled my eyes at the pain. I don't think I've ever experienced pain like this before, and I'm doing my best to hold myself together.

We got there and he pulled up to the emergency room entrance, where nurses met up and put me in a wheelchair. Teddy and I were separated then, him needing to go park the car while they got me admitted. Once I was in the room where we waited for me to be at ten centimeters, my parents showed up and my mother whispered to me on what to do. She was there, holding onto my hand while we waited, and it felt like years before I actually got to ten centimeters and was transported into the delivery room.

"You did good, honey," My dad spoke, kissing my forehead. Tears streamed down my face, and I gripped onto his hand tightly.

"Did I?" I asked, my breath shaky.

"Of course baby," My mom said. They both had tears in their eyes and I smiled, resting against the hospital bed. It was finally over with, the pain still there but the hard part over. I was now in a different room, waiting for them to get done cleaning the baby off.

"Here is baby Mackenzie," The doctor handed me the now clean baby, and wow, was she tiny. I held her, staring down at her with a smile. She was adorable, and I think I've fallen in love.
