Chapter 12

As we approach the horse barn Skylar freezes, "He's here."

I sniff the air and smell an unfamiliar wolf, I growl lowly and Keaton says, "Remember Liam is now Micah. You cannot use his name Skylar."

She nods, "I know."

As we walk in Skylar calls out, "Hey Madeline, are you here?"

We hear two hushed voices and then the girl saying, "Last row."

We walk back and sure enough find Madeline and a boy with brown hair and blue eyes, just like Skylar.

"Hi Skylar..." Madeline says slowly, "And you're?"

"Keaton, and this is Micah," Keaton says.

The guy eyes me, "I'm Rain."

Skylar nods, "We know that."

He looks at her surprised, "You know who I am?"

She nods staring at him, "Yes. And if you answer my questions we'll answer yours."

He glances at Madeline and says, "Fine. But only because I don't want you hating me. I'm your brother."

She rolls her eyes, "Yes, apparently my older responsible for a mess brother."

He eyes her and shrugs, "I'm just trying to get dad to agree with me."

She shakes her head, "How do you even know it's what I want?"

He presses his lips together and takes another look at Madeline, "It's been known for the Alpha wolves in our family to end up Mating with a True Mate and not just their wolves Mate. It should have happenend to dad, but he wanted mom."

Skylar frowns, "But mom said that..."

"Jae's dad was her True Mate? He is, but her wolves Mate is dad's wolves Mate. Just like your wolves Mate is Toby."

She nods, "Okay...but why does all of this matter to you?"

He sighs, "Madeline is my True Mate, I rejected my other Mate."

"Okay...why did you have to kidnap M-Liam?"

He rolls his eyes, "Dad wants to come down on the full moon before the Mating between Toby and Bethany is sealed and kill Bethany so Toby will Mate with you. Liam is leverage. If I threaten to kill Liam it will hurt your Wolf, it could destroy you as an Alpha and dad doesn't want that. He wants you happy. If he can see your True Mate makes you happy then he won't do anything stupid."

Skylar gulps, "That's not his only plan. He's an Alpha. He has to have a back up plan."

Rain nods, "If he can get a hold of Liam he'll kill Liam so that you'll want to Mate with Toby and Toby, being a loyal Alpha will choose to Mate you."

Skylar runs her hands through her hair and starts pacing back and forth. Rain watches her and says, "You don't seem very upset that I have your True Mate."

She freezes and turns to look at him as Keaton looks at me, God dammit, now I owe Cam ten bucks.

I glare at him and Skylar says, "How do you even know if he's my True Mate? I don't even know."

Rain eyes her, "Well you'll feel it on Sunday. That's for sure."

She bites her lip and nods, "Maybe so."

He bites his own lip, "Look, I have to get back to Liam...he hasn't eaten yet today."

Skylar eyes him, "Why are you putting vervain in his food?"
