Chapter 18

When I walk into the clearing my wolf whines at me, Look at him! Skylar look at him!

I look at Rain with a pained expression and he nudges my leg, Sky...just do yourself a favor and look.

I look up at sure enough he's straight across the clearning from me, they both are. Toby and Liam stand side by side. Both of their eyes on me. I could make out two destinctive scents. One was of cinnamon and oranges, the other of cinnamon and apples.

My wolf screams, Mate! Mate! Mates!

Shut up, I need to concentrate so our Mates don't die.

She quiets and I snap my head up as I smell two wolves walking into the clearing. Jackson's eyes settle on mine and he sneers at me, his human hands on Madeline's arm.

I growl and Rain joins in.

"So your little boy toy is Alpha now huh Skylar?"

I snarl at him, "Madeline has nothing to do with this Jackson."

His green eyes glow, "Oh but that's where you're wrong. You see when your disgrace of a brother rejected his Mate, my own flesh and blood he choice MY Mate. Madeline is mine."

I look at Madeline and she shrugs, I gulp, "Madeline is only fifteen. She can't make a choice yet Jackson. Just let her go and no one gets hurt."

He shakes his head, "No. She's mine."

I look at Liam and then back at Jackson, "Actually she lives in our territory. If Liam doesn't want her to Mate you then you can't. Her family has lived in our territory for a few years."

Jackson gulps, knowing I'm right, "I could fight for it."

I shake my head, "No, you have to wait for your Alpha for that. You need permission."

He growls lowly and I say, "Let her go. She's ours."

He loosens his grip on her arm and she makes a run for it. Straight behind Liam. He looks over his shoulder at her and she nods, shifting on the spot.

I look at Rain who's looking at Madeline. Then I look at my other brother, Jay. He seems to be talking to Madeline, calming her down.

When I look back I see two forms coming through the woods. Both in human form. A none threatening manner.

My father's eyes lock onto me, "Skylar?" he asks softly.

I nod and look at Carmen, "What did you promise him Carmen?"

She gulps and looks down, "That I would keep you away from Liam. It could have worked if it wasn't for that stupid dream you had. You wanted Toby. I bet your wolf wants him right now."

She's right. I do want him.

"You don't know what my wolf wants. But I know exactly what yours wants."

Her eyes flicker to Jay and then back to me, "I could reject him."

"Why would you do that? You want him. In fact I bet he smells really appetizing after being away from him with that Blood Bond."

She gulps and looks at my father, he then seems to notice Jackson, "What are you doing here?"

"He came to threaten us," I say.

Actually he's been threatening Skylar for quite awhile Alpha Black. I thought you took better care of your pack than that. 

Liam's voice drips through my mind, winding around my thoughts.
