Chapter 21

Another month later...

October 5th

I had spent the last month going back and forth between Jemma's house and Cameron's house. When I felt like I was getting to close to Cam I'd head over to Jemma's. And when I knew Jemma needed time with Micah I went back to Cam's.

I was working on my A.P. Compostion paper at the pack house for once because Jemma and Micah were...busy, and Cam had Veronica over for a talk. 

I hear someone walk into the den and drop their bag on a chair, when I look up I find Liam looking at me.

He frowns, "I uh...I thought you were staying at Cam's?"

I nod, "He has Veronica over right now, they're talking. I didn't want to be in the way. And Jemma has Micah in her bedroom..."

He nods, "Ahh...understandable."

I nod and look back down at my laptop to work on my paper.

When my laptop starts ringing with a Skype call I answer it immediately. Toby appears on screen with a grin.

"Hey you answsered."

I nod, "Good distraction from my homework."

He sticks his tongue out and says, "Hell yeah why do homework when you can talk to me all day?"

I roll my eyes, "Shouldn't you be in some meeting with my dad?"

He shrugs, "He told me to go ahead and check on you. He said you sounded upset this morning on the phone."

I bite my lip and glance at Liam who is sitting in a chair across the room staring at me curiously, I shrug at Toby, "It's nothing."

He frowns, "Skylar I know damn well that it's not nothing. Where are you?"

I shrug, "Pack house."

He scowls, "Why are you there? You haven't even gone there for a pack meeting in two months. Why the hell are you over there?"

I sigh, "Jemma and Micah are being extremly loud screwing each others brains out and Cam is having a talk with Veronica. Apparently she doesn't really want to tear my throat out anymore."

"You never did tell me what that was about?"

I groan and look back up at Liam who is smirking at his homework, I look back at Toby, "He was chasing me and he tackled me, and we ended up kissing. And then we both freaked out and I told him to forget about it. Liam saw and I ended up having to tell Veronica."

His eyes widen, "He turned you over to Veronica??"

I roll my eyes, "She's his sister. Rain would do the same thing for me."

He nods, "Okay what about Jay?"

I shrug, "I don't know. I haven't talked to him in a month."

He sighs and shakes his head, "Unbelievable. I should have stuck around."

I shake my head, "No. You have no reason to be here."

He nods, "I know, but Bethany does. She still hasn't rejected Liam."

I shift uncomfortably and Toby says, "He's in the same room as you isn't he?"

I bite my lip and nod, "Yep."

He shakes his head, "The pack house is huge. Why?"

I shrug, "How should I know?"

Liam sits down next to me unexpectedly and looks at Toby, "Kendall and Bree are upstairs. Bree's in the middle of a meltdown. She might be pregnant."
