Chapter 16

I was laying on the couch with my head in Liam's lap on a pillow as he rubbed my shoulders watching Saturday morning cartoons. Currently I was watching Tom and Jerry.

"Poor Jerry," I sigh.

Liam snorts, "Skylar that mouse is a smart little devil. He's not a poor little mouse."

I turn my head to look up at him, "Tom chases him!"

Liam nods, "And Jerry antagonizes him. He could just hide."

I stick my tongue out at him, "Maybe he's just trying to have some fun."

He smirks, "Exactly. He knows what he's doing." 

"Well well well."

I look up to Bree smirking, "What?" I sigh.

"How's the shoulder?"

I shrug, "It's gone."

Micah and Jemma walk in then and he smiles, "You okay?"

"Yep," I say popping the p.

Jemma reaches up and kisses his cheek, "You know you're lucky you had vervain in your system for that last night. Breaking a Mating bond is suppose to hurt like a bitch."

He shrugs, "I didn't even feel it break, I heard the snap from my wolf and I just knew it was gone. Or at least it felt gone...it is gone right?"

I nod, looking down at my own shoulder, "It's gone."

I look up at Liam who's staring down at me and I say, "You know what's weird? We're both Alpha wolves and we're the youngest out of all of our friends. How is that fair?"

He smirks and shrugs, "Who knows. But it's kind of weird that we have the same birthday."

I nod, "I know."

Bree grins and says, "I have something to shoooowww you!"

I frown and she pulls the edge of her yoga pants down to show us the small crescent moon that had formed, "I am officially seventeen and legal baby."

I roll my eyes, "Good for you sunshine."

She grins and shrugs, "You'll have one tomorrow. Just remember it's a gift from the Goddess."

I nod slowly, "I've gotten enough gifts from her."

She frowns and says, "Sky...you saved us a lot of trouble. You may not have realized it yet but you probably saved Carmen from doing something really stupid."

I frown, "What do you mean?"

She gulps and glances at Liam who's stiffened, "I heard what she told you...about Liam?"

Jemma frowns, "What?"

I look up at Jemma, "Carmen liked Liam before you ever did. Supposedly. She tried making me feel bad about being friends with him. It was before Micah bite me."

Jemma frowns and shakes her head, "That's weird because she never told me she liked Liam. If she had I wouldn't have dated him."

I nod slowly and glance up at Liam, "Okay...I guess you were right."

He smirks and then frowns, "Where is Carmen? I haven't seen her since last night. And where's your brother?"

I frown and sit up, "I don't know."

As if on cue my brother comes rushing inside, in his nearly shredded shorts.

"Jay? What's wrong?"

He gulps, "Carmen. She ran off on me last night. I chased her for hours Sky," he leans forward his hands on his knees and takes a deep breath, "When she hit a river for a territory line I saw the Goddess. She told me not to go any further or I'd get killed."
