When I wake up Friday it's alone in a different room. I get up and come downstairs to find Skylar reading the comics at the table.
"Morning," I say.
She doesn't look up but she replies, "Morning."
I sit down across from her and say, "Skylar are you even going to look at me?"
She shrugs and continues holding the paper up, "Why should I? I don't really have anything to say to you."
"You don't even want to hear me apologize?" I ask.
She snorts and slams the paper down, "You said you knew better the first time, and you slept with her again. That's the reason everyone told me to stay away from you. You did the same thing to other girls. Always with Jemma."
I gulp and look away out the window, "I made mistakes and sleeping with Jemma yesterday was one of them. But I needed a release so I wouldn't hurt you Skylar."
She stands up and puts the chair back in place as she says, "News flash! You could have gone for a run instead like a normal person. Or you could have punched something. Having sex with some skank isn't the only way to release your pent up anger and energy Liam."
I hold in my growl as she makes her way to the door and instead ask, "Where are you going?"
She glares at me, "For a run."
***Skylar***
As soon as I shift I hear my wolf purr with excitement.
Oh boy! A run! I missed running!
We could have gone running if you hadn't stopped talking to me.
Why are you wasting time and denying fate Skylar?
Why am I having a conversation with you? You're suppose to be enjoying a run.
If today is Friday and your father is coming Sunday then why are you wasting time? You should be spending time with the one you care about most.
I'm not wasting time. I need a run.
What you need is comfort.
Fuck off.
I block out my wolf, concentrating on the feel of the ground beneath my paws. I know I'm heading towards the river. That's always my favorite spot to stop at. It allows me to take a break and drink some water. And sometimes, on especially hot days, take a dip. In human form.
As I run I notice a few elder wolfs on watch. They ignore me and I ignore them.
When I finally reach the river bank I sigh walk up talking a long drink. After a few minutes I lay down and watch the water. When I hear a twig I look up to see Blake in wolf form.
He grins, he was on his territory line.
I roll my eyes at him and lay back down. He whines and I decide to slip into the water, a good distance away from him, to shift and to talk. He takes my que and jumps into the water.
Once I'm shifted I rest my arms on a huge rock, blocking my body from view.
"Hey Blake."
He smirks, "Hey Sky. How are you feeling?"
I shrug, "Kinda awful."
He nods and frowns, "How's Liam? He felt really awful when I talked to him."
I frown, when had he talked to Liam?
"When did you talk to Liam?"
He shrugs, "Late last night. He called. You know Liam and I use to get along until Jemma decided to sleep with me. He was pissed. I know that everyone thinks he's a bad guy because of the drugs and because Jemma is his weakness but he's not a bad guy. He's a really good guy. It's just that he's always loved Jemma in a way. They've always been close."
