Marinette
"STOP!!!" I screamed as they pulled at my wrists. "Please don't let me leave them! I need them!!!!!" Tears streamed down my cheeks.
They stuffed me in the car. I couldn't get out since it was child proof. I cried, slight whimpers echoed in the car as I placed my hand on the window. Drops of rain plopped on the windowsill, I felt cold, and alone.
"Please." I cried, the car drove away as I watched my parents who were just shot be lifted into an ambulance.
Time skip, (1 week later)
"Breaking News! This is Nadia Chamack here, reporting a murder of a married couple known as Sabine Cheng, and Tom Dupain. It says they were shot and their helpless daughter who is only 8 years old is-" i shut off the tv. Tears streaming down my face.
"Marinette? Someone's here for you." I looked at the girl who called me in. I was only 8 but I was smart. I shyly got up and entered the room nervously. This ment that I was being adopted. I had been in this orphanage for only a week.
" h-hi. " I waved nervously. The couple smirked at each other. "Hi sweetheart."
After hours of paperwork and talking I was now known as their child. I had gone with them a few days later. And after seeming like the sweetest couple in the world, besides my parents, they had treated me like dirt.
they handed me the mop and broom and I had to clean around their house every day. They didn't feed me often, only 3 days out of the week, and I had gotten thinner and thinner.
Time skip (2 years later)
I had ran away, and this old couple took me in, and understood my pain. I was 10, and on my eleventh birthday, the old man that I called gramps had died of a heart attack. The next week the old lady I called grams had died due to heartbreak and old age.
I had ran randomly through the streets. I was caught in my old orphanage and was adopted once again. The girl was sweet and seemed quite sure of herself. She wasn't able to have children so I understood why she wanted to adopt me.
Soon after, the girl had done suicide after her husband was found cheating on her, and chose the other girl after her. I was 14 at the time, and was excepted into a different orphanage.
I stayed at the orphanage for two more years. Now 16, since I had become a teenager. But that's when I saw her. A girl, she waved and smiled at me, she passed by going to the little girls who were at least 6. She talked to the manager.
She pointed at me to my surprise, and I heard faint whispers. It seemed he was telling her my pleasant story. She walked over to me. I raised a brow, confusingly.
"H-hey." She waved slightly. I blinked. "M-my name is Emily!" She held out her hand. I just looked at it. "I'd like to adopt you!"
I blinked. I'd be better if I didn't talk. I had bad luck. I didn't want to kill another soul. She signed the papers. Tears streamed down my face, she has no idea what she was getting into. I couldn't get to attached. Remember, I had bad luck.
It took a few days, they had to check her house, approve that she was situated for adoption. And of course, the orphanage's approval.
"So, ready to see your new home?"
I nodded. She smiled, "You don't talk much do you?"
I shook my head no. "Well, I hope your fine with me going to work. I work at 8:00 every night, and my son has to give you a tour around the house."
I opened my mouth to talk. I closed it. I wasn't going to kill another person. I nodded. Son? I've never had a sibling... Well, he's not my sibling but still.
"But I'll be staying for dinner. And we'll have a little talk. But I want you to feel comfortable at the house. My son is very sweet, and he'll be great company towards you."
She drove into the lawn. I felt shivers go down my spine. I grabbed my bag, I didn't take much. Since I didn't have much. all there was, was clothes.
She walked me inside, "Here let me show you your room." I kind of liked the house. It was cute with pots of flowers that looked like she grew them. She walked me up the stairs and into the room.
