IMPORTANT NOTE TO ALL: >>>>>>>> MUST READ

Guys, There are exactly 5 CHAPTERS left in this book. Tomorrow late in the night, I am leaving for Australia for a holiday. I want to complete this book and leave, because I don't want you leave you guys hanging. That would mean I would be writing all the time until tomrrow, but I am ready for that.

However, when I post the chapters or not is completely based on you guys. As soon as you guys give me 1000 comments, I will post another chapter. Clearly, we are here working on a time limit, so the faster you guys comment the faster you will get your next chapter. Or else you guys will be left hanging in mid air for next 15 days because I will not be able to post any chapters while I am in Perth, Australia.

FOR NEXT UPDATE 120 VOTES AND 1000 COMMENTS REQUIRED.

Chapter 45 - Rancorous Covetousness

Frozen, I had sat there, with my hands at the back of my head, looking up to my best friend pointing a gun at me. I was hoping, praying that this was some sort of nightmare. That somehow Brittany would just bend down, take me by my shoulders and tell me how she is going to help me get out of this place.

I waited. For that to happen, for her to say something along the lines of I thought Sophie was the one kidnapping you but she didn’t. I just sat, kneeling there slowly looking down at the green patch in front of me. I couldn’t look at the reality, couldn’t look at Brittany while she was looking down at me condescendingly with a gun at my head.

The same question that had now become inconsequential went back and forth in my head, Why?... Why? Why? Why?

Eventually other men had arrived, other men with gun looking at Sophie and me with a scowl on their face as though wondering how dare they. Brittany had not said a word, just stood there as the men hauled me back and another one took Sophie on to his shoulders.

We made our way back to the same place where I was held, expect this time there were two chairs set, my mind began working out almost justifying what Brittany had done. But I couldn’t find any. I couldn’t explain to myself why my own best friend of over fifteen years was with Chris.

A small laugh rose up inside my head, a dark humor. I didn’t know which one I was supposed to hate more. Chris or Brittany.

As we were being tied down to the chairs, this time with duck tapes, so there was no root of escape, our hands in front of us, each leg tapped to the chair Sophie began stirring back to awareness. I could see her sudden confusion, when she looked at Brittany standing in front of us, as the men worked on securing our tapes.

She looked at me, and then back at Brittany, blinking her eyes couple of times, until a reaction would be mustered out of her. I could imagine her confusion at why my best friend was standing in front of us as our abductor.

Brittany raised her hands to gesture something at the men standing behind her. Almost immediately, the men left to stand closer to the exit door, alert with guns in there hands, she finally looked at both of us and smiled, “Fancy seeing you here” she said, as her hooves thudded through the room.
