The tiny drops of rain had started to fall from the gray sky. It was turning dark and there was no sign of sun in the sky. It was hard to see out of the window. The fog made the view blurry. Belle who was looking out of the window was sitting in her room. Tears coming out of her eyes just like rain drops falling from the sky, her hazel eyes were now puffy and the redness was visible around her pupil due to crying for two weeks. She wiped a tear from her cheek as someone entered her room. She turned to see who entered.
It was her mother, Elizabeth. She was holding a bowl in her hand. She was shorter than Belle, had long blond hair, unlike Belle. Her hair was a reddish brown. Elizabeth has become too worried about her daughter, after the death of Belle's boyfriend. She has never seen her daughter so broken. It affected her a lot. Even when her father died of kidney failure, Belle faced it quite courageously.
"I made soup," said Elizabeth smiling at Belle, hoping Belle will accept it and take a few sips.
"I'm not really hungry," Belle said while looking at her hands, her voice shaky and rough.
Elizabeth tried to convince her to have few sips of the hot soup but failed. She left the soup on the side table and left the room without saying a word.
After a while, the rain had stopped. Belle didn't move an inch. She was sitting right at the same spot, viewing outside. She didn't know for how many hours she's been looking out. She wasn't paying attention to the view, she was lost in her thoughts, memories of him. Everything was replaying in her mind, the first time she met him.
"Mom! I'm late. I'll miss the train. I don't want to arrive late at school, love you, " Belle screamed before shutting the entrance door.
She was running towards the subway station. The sun rays were falling on her bare skin. She was wearing her floral print summer dress with her neon wedges. Her hair were loose, falling at her back. She ran quickly down the stairs, and entered the station, pushing people and making her way through the crowd. At last, she sighed as she entered the train. She was out of breath. She moved her hand to her heart and it was beating loudly.
"Hey! Excuse me," she heard someone shout. She ignored it but she didn't realize that voice was approaching her.
Her eyes now scanning for an empty seat on the train.
"Is it yours?"
"Hello?" she heard the same voice again. She wasn't sure, is someone following me?
She turned around.
Bam.
She bumped into someone. Her face hit his torso. She looked up to see a young boy of her age. His blue eyes looking at her, his brunette hair covered with gel were nicely styled. She was too busy analyzing his features that she didn't realize he was holding something in his hands.
"I asked you something?" he spoke up.
The question startled her.
"Ah!" Was all she said.
She was kind of embarrassed about the fact that she was too occupied checking him out. She took the thing from his hand when her eyes landed on his hand.
"Oh my god!" She screamed. It was her school ID card.
"You dropped it outside the train," The boy said smiling at her reaction.
"Oh! Thank you so much. You saved me from paying a fine at school for not bringing the ID card," She said smiling.
He smiled back.
Belle came back to reality as she heard her stomach growled. She decided to drink the soup her mom left on the side table. After finishing it up. She left the bowl on the side table and didn't bother to put in the kitchen. She has stopped getting out of her room and rarely goes out of her house.
She has stopped using all kind of social networking sites. Her phone has been in the drawer for a week now, discharged. She just stays in her room thinking about the memories or looks at the photos of them together. She never gets tired of looking at them again and again. Belle was happy about one thing. She had no school. She was on her winter break. so she was free from all the sympathies and questions she didn't want to answer.
The day passed by slowly. Belle went to bed at nine at night but couldn't sleep. She was lying on her bed for hours now she looked at the wall clock and realized it was midnight. She was tossing and turning after every ten minutes. She was trying hard to stop thinking about him but she couldn't stop it. She couldn't forget his face and her sad heart was wishing to meet him one last time.
Tears started escaping her eyes. She has become a quick crier, even the silliest thing make her cry now. She was confused and helpless. She didn't know how to feel better again. She didn't know how to stop all the feelings.
Now a month has passed by but her conditions worsened.
Dark circles formed under her eyes. Her nights were the same sleepless one. Her diet's the same. She has tried everything- watched movies, comedy, scary and action. She sees him in everything, the lyrics of songs remind her of him. Some romantic scenes remind her of all the sweet things he used to do for her. She even tried therapy but it was useless and a waste of time.
"What should I do? God, I'm asking you. Please help me. Please. Please." She whispered as tears came out of her eyes.
Now the only one option was left, to ask God for help. She was never a religious person but nothing was helping so she thought of him. She asked for his help but will she be disappointed or not?
