"I thought you might be here." Victor's voice broke me out of my thoughts.
I scoffed, taking another shot.
I definitely prefer wine over this.
"Do you even know what you just drank."
"No." I murmured. "It doesn't matter. I ordered it."
"Better that than some stranger." He sighed. "Come on, we need to get you out of here before someone tips off your location to the paparazzi. God knows we don't need anything else to be said."
"Fuck them," I growled. "Let them talk."
Even if Victor's form was slightly blurry, I could still see the confusion in his gaze.
"I need a break," I explained. "I need to get away from it all."
"How? Who would take over Wolfe Industries?"
"You would take Wolfe Industries while I go back to our safe house and gain the slightest hint of normalcy.
"I can't take-"
"You can and you will. You're the only person I trust it with, Victor." I glanced at him. "Please, it's only temporary."
He gave in, letting out a defeated sigh. "Okay, but you're staying with me until I have the place cleaned up. And I'm going to be taking you home."
I muttered a string of curses under my breath. "Fine."
Victor was right. I needed to get out of sight before anyone could interrogate me on the "incident".
