Adam stood next to his car all the way at the back of the grid, underneath the umbrella. The car looked fresh as ever after an extensive re-work neatly executed by the team. Every major component, from the powertrain to the gearbox had all been replaced with a brand new one.
"Adam, just a heads up, the board is eyeing for a Top 4 finish. With new components, we'll be on the upper-hand in the long run," Max announced.
"Yeah, Max. Isn't that why I suggested it?" Adam giggled.
"Right..."

Way in-front, Tyler Jefferson from Penske made a surprise appearance on pole, after many mishaps that happened during Qualifying. The Surfer's Paradise Street Circuit, in the rain, is something no driver would want to deal with but unfortunately, that's exactly what they'd been through during Saturday's Qualy. Behind Tyler, Lara took second with Mick right behind her. Victoria was placed in P5 with Aläia in front of her in P4.
Just before the national anthem was played, Sara pulled Adam aside, with her smartphone illuminated on her right hand. "Elena texted. Apparently, they've 'sort of' found a new lead on Sean," she updated.
"What do you mean, 'sort of'?" Adam asked.
"Sean rented a condo in Singapore in 2020. Elliot and Elena went to that unit and found out he was no longer staying there. So they back-paddled to the owner of the condo and they've discovered Sean moved to Jakarta in 2030 for business purposes." She explained.
"What... this guy is just taking the piss now..." Adam replied. "So what did they find in Jakarta now?"
"Nothing yet..." Adam then turned his mind back to the race and placed his helmet over his head. "We'll talk about this after the race. Love you..." Adam mused, hopping into the Tesla as the mechanics then left the main straight for the start of the race.
The green lights lit up the circuit and the cars came sprinting down into Turns 1-3. "Immense start from Lara! Can she squeeze Tyler into 1...? Barely! Risky move but nevertheless, clinical from the Brit!" He commentators screamed.
The inexperienced Tyler Jefferson was soon overtaken by Mick and then Aläia. But everyone's eyes were on the 5-time F1 world champion, charging through the field like an absolute mad man. "Pace is good, Adam. Just don't take too many risks...
... like that one..." Max gasped as Adam made a lunge down Turn 14 into Tedder Avenue to steal P9 just 3 laps into the race.
"Sorry, dude..." Adam replied, giggling.
"Jesus..." Max mumbled, rubbing his eyes.
At the front, the racing was as intense as always, with Victoria back in the fight for the win after passing Jefferson and was now less than a second away from the Top 3; Lara, Mick and Aläia.
