Just when the five lights went off, the hissing, spitting, fire-breathing monsters on the grid instantly shot off their line, sprinting towards the first right-hander of the track.

Victoria immediately lost all hope to actually finish the race on the podium after watching the front 3 runners disappearing into turn 1. The spray of standing water on the track wasn't much of a help as it basically blinded her on the track.

"How are they doing that?! Seriously..." She asked her engineer.

Even the experienced Williams engineer couldn't figure out a precise answer to that.

In these conditions, it was almost impossible for any of the drivers on the grid to race safely. But somehow the Renault, Mclaren and Ferrari in front of the pack raced like their lives depended on it. Wheel to wheel throughout the track, no one having the intention to slow down.

"They'll force themselves into a mistake..." Alaia told herself as she tirelessly tried to keep up with Peter and the two others fighting in front.

Lap after lap, the three managed to pull away from the rest of the pack. Behind them, Victoria and Rafael were in a scrap with Alaia and one of the Aston Martin's for P4. Alaia was struggling to overtake the #14 Williams, and she backed out every single time into the corner, playing it safe.

Every second she spent behind Rafael, Victoria closed in on her.

"Can we call a red flag? I'm depending only on my HUD map to judge where I am on the track," Victoria complained, cautiously pressing the radio button whilst steering the car.

Andy went to the stewards to appeal for a red flag to bring the race to a halt, but to no avail.

"Keep racing, Vicki. No red flags from the stewards," Andy revealed.

"Shit..." Vicki murmured, constantly glancing to the nose cam of her car, displayed in the HUD of her lid.

Deep into the race, all the drivers were sticking to their positions, not willing to risk crashing or getting into a mistake. Except for the top 3. Dario, Peter and Marcos continued racing, without any form of warning from their race engineers. Their precise and otherworldly driving became the only entertainment for the hundreds of thousands of fans who turned up.

"5 laps to go, and... OH...! My goodness me!" Di Resta exclaimed watching the #15 Williams car doing a couple of barrel rolls before coming to a complete stop in the gravel trap after Turn 1.

Hands on faces and heads were seen in the Williams pit wall as Andy repeatedly attempted to contact Victoria, who was still trapped underneath the overturned Williams.

"Victoria, confirm you're okay..." All Andy heard was static in the team radio.

"Andy, I'm fine... I'm fine. Sorry, I had to avoid crashing into the Merc. It's the side barriers or Alaia." Victoria explained.
