Chapter 8
Cassie’s POV
The Skipper house had returned to normal after three weeks. [A/N: Alright yes, it should take a lot longer than that to recover from almost dying but bare with me.] It took a lot of counseling and support from my parents but I was finally back to normal. The only thing that was still terrible where the dreams that I had, though they weren’t often. When I did have them, however, they were awful and it took a lot to finally calm me down.
My family had seen everything on TV, they saw the Vulture tie me up right when the News cameras where there. I guess it shouldn’t have surprised me that Dad was watching the News. It always seemed to be on the TV when he was home and Mom always nagged him on watching something else but, for once, she was glad that Dad liked the News so much.
Josh filled them in on how I was taken and assured them that Spiderman would save me though my parents thought that I was lost forever. Soon even Josh’s faith started to decrease until it was only a sliver. He never truly gave up on Spiderman though.
When my family saw me walk through the door, it was like they had seen a ghost because they all assumed I was dead. Now, our family had bonded even more and became closer than we had ever been. And thankfully, Josh took the Spiderman excuse and everything calmed back down.
Currently, I was waiting in front of my apartment building waiting for Peter. It was finally Graduation night! I was finally graduating Jail! I mean…uhh… High School.
Peter’s Aunt as well as Gwen, MJ and my parents were already there. The only reason that I wasn’t there, was because Peter called me and told me he wanted to walk to the school together for memory sake, so here I was waiting for him…and waiting and waiting.
Something that I had to get used to was Peter always disappearing, as well as having to make an excuse for him disappearing. Peter had a double life and that made him always reschedule things and be late for things. It was hard sometimes but I was usually fine with it, this time however, was an exception.
He promised that he wouldn’t be late yet here he was, almost 10 whole minutes late! I couldn’t be late for graduation and he knew that! Yet still, I waited, thinking he would turn up any minute.
I felt really stupid, standing in front of the building in my cap and gown but I didn’t want to leave Peter behind.
Shuffling my feet, I stared at the ground, hoping Peter would come soon. A truck stopping in front of me made me look up to see a sparkling new blue pickup truck with Flash in the driver’s seat.
“Hi Flash,” I sighed, disappointed that it was him. Even though Peter didn’t have a car, I was still hoping that it was him.
“Hey Babe,” Flash said and I cringed but ignored him, continuing to turn my head to look for Peter. “Need a ride?” he asked.
