Eddie sat with Richie in his room for what felt like hours, he didn't care if his Mother yelled at him for coming home late, he didn't care if he had to spend the whole night. He just wanted Richie to be okay. Eddie would do anything for Richie, even if it meant dying...

Richie had used up all his tears and now lay in Eddie's arms, he sniffed and wiped his face.

"Sorry Eds.." He mumbled, pulling away.

"It's fine.." Eddie took Richie's hand and squeezed it. "Just know that I'll always be here. Always."

"Thanks Eds." Richie smiled weakly.

"No problem. Promise me you'll answer my calls and texts, don't go disappearing on me again.."

"I won't." Richie answered, looking at his and Eddie's intertwined hands.

"Promise me.." Eddie looked at Richie.

"I promise Eds." Richie looked back into Eddie's brown eyes.

Eddie smiled. They looked at each other like that for a while, their faces getting closer, until Eddie's phone rung.

He let go of Richie's hand and pulled his ringing phone out of his pocket.

"Shit, it's my Mom..." Eddie's heart sank as he picked up and heard his Mother yell. He knew she was angry.

"H-hello?"

"EDWARD KASPBRAK! WHERE IN THE WORLD ARE YOU?!" She screamed through the phone. Sonia was so loud that Richie could even hear her.

"I'm with my friends Ma, I'm fine.."

"YOU GET YOUR BUTT HOME RIGHT NOW! YOU COULD CATCH A DISEASE WITH ALL THOSE FILTHY BOYS IF YOUR WITH THEM TOO MUCH! ESPECIALLY AROUND THAT BEVERLY MARSH!" She yelled.

"Okay, sorry Ma, I'm on my way right now. Bye, love you too." Eddie hung up and sighed.

"I won't go if you don't want me to."

"You can go." Richie said, standing up.

"You sure?" Eddie asked.

"Yeah, I'll be fine." Richie smiled at Eddie a little.

"Alright, call me, okay?"

"I will."

Eddie stood there for a moment, then hugged Richie. Richie hugged back, ruffling Eddie's hair as he let go.

Eddie smiled at Richie one more time and climbed out his room. He waved and rushed home.

Once he walked into his house, his mother checked his temperature and told him not to stay out too late without notifying her. Then, she sent him to his room.

Eddie lay in his bed, his mind drifting off to Richie.

Richie Tozier was ruining Eddie Kaspbrak, ruining him by worrying him .

Love is a complicated game.

Eddie stood in a dark room, he heard someone crying.

"Hello?" Eddie looked around until he spotted a boy, head in knees. It looked like Richie.

"Rich?!" Eddie called. The boy's shoulders stopped shaking and he looked up.

"Eds?.." He stood up, Eddie started walking towards him. Once he reached Richie, he regretted it. The boy's face was all rotten and bruised, his eyes a black lifeless color. Richie opened his mouth and a black liquid came out.

"You lied! You broke your promise!" Richie pointed a finger and Eddie and screamed.

Eddie was horrified, he sank to the ground and covered his ears as Richie screamed at him.

"LIAR!"

"YOUR A LIAR!"

Eddie rocked back and forth, crying now.

"LIARS MUST DIE!" Richie came in front of Eddie with a gun, then, he shot him.

Eddie woke up sweating, his breathing heavy.

He looked around and realized he was safe in his room. Just a dream.

"Richie.." He whispered, shuddering at the horrid image of Richie Tozier in his nightmare.

Eddie sighed and wiped his sweaty forehead and tear stained face.

He grabbed his phone off the nightstand and dialed Richie's number. Richie picked up on the second ring.

"Eds?" He sounded groggy.

"Hey Rich...did I wake you?" Eddie asked, feeling stupid for asking that question. Of course he'd woken him, it was the middle of the night!

"No, I was actually awake before you called..." Richie replied.

"Anyways, what's up?" Richie asked yawning.

"Oh nothing...just couldn't sleep."

"Yeah, me too."

The two boys were both up, though because of two complete different reasons. One was awake crying, the other was awake because of a nightmare.

"Are you okay? Did anything happ-"

"Sorry Eds, can we not talk about that shit? Just for once..." Richie said, cutting Eddie off.

"Yeah, sure Rich."

So, the two boys stayed up all night, sharing memories of when they were younger, laughing.

Eddie's eyes got heavy with sleep after a while.

"You still there Eds?" Richie asked.

"Y-yeah, just starting to get tired." Eddie replied, yawning.

"You should get some sleep."

"Yeah." Eddie rubbed his eyes.

"Well, night Eds."

"Night Richie, I love you." Eddie said, half asleep, not realizing what he had said. On the other line, Richie smiled to himself and whispered "I love you too" as he hung up and shut his eyes. Richie Tozier loved Eddie Kaspbrak more than he'd ever loved anyone before. Eddie was Richie's first love, and he'd be his last as well..
