Ever since Christmas, the members of glee have been acting odd. They all started joining other clubs and sports which is sad. They couldn't last a month without trying to fit in somehow.
For me on the other hand, I have been trying to enjoy every last minute of high school. I wasn't ready to leave my friends and my town. A few months ago, I could have said the other way around. Everything is just going my way at the moment. It makes it easy for me to feel like I am a senior.
I walked down the halls, still noticing everything was different with the club. It felt like we were defeated. Everybody can't get over the loss. Now we are a bunch of nomads jumping around from classroom to classroom just to find somewhere to perform since Coach Sylvester took over the choir room.
I casually made my way through my regular route. It was as if everything felt different. I was more confident than I had been in a long time.
I walked into the Student Council Meeting. I saw Blaine, Sam, and Tina sitting around a table with an open seat for me. I sat down.
"Bonjour!" I grinned. "What is on today's agenda?" Then Tina began to do this big speech about a proposal of the traditional Sadie Hawkins dance. I mean was all for it, but Blaine and Same were kind of in shock. It was majority vote for it.
"Hey!" Sam ran up to me.
"Hi?" I greeted.
"Has Sebastian been acting different?" Sam blurted out.
"What?" I gave him an odd look.
Has Sebastian been different to you?" He repeated.
"Sam, if you are accusing my boyfriend with that theory of yours then leave me out of it." I rolled my eyes.
"I'm not saying it is your boyfriend, I'm saying it's the warblers." He corrected.
"Sam, we lost, there is nothing we could do about it." I folded my arms over my chest.
After a long day of school, glee, and student council, I got home to plan my overall proposal to ask Sebastian to be my date for the Sadie Hawkins Dance. I looked at the grand piano that sat in my living room, and decided to press the keys.
I played piano for about three years, because my neighbor would come over and be my teacher. She was this middle aged women who was a piano teacher. She offered to teach me on the weekends. When she moved away to live with her husband in Texas, I haven't played since. I knew what I could do to ask Sebastian to my Sadie Hawkins Dance.
It was Wednesday night. Typically Sebastian and I would go to that Karaoke restaurant as a date night, and I was still going to hold that weekly event.
"Are you going to sing?" Sebastian asked as I sipped my milkshake.
"Maybe," I grinned.
"Why haven't you decided to share your talent with the world?" He asked.
"I don't know." I commented. "Maybe I'm not ready."
"Oh come on, you are more than ready." He persuaded.
"You really think so?" I furrowed my eyebrows.
"Hollywood would be out of their minds if they thought you didn't have the talent to make it big." He reassured. I just let out a grin and leaned in. We were interrupted by the announcer.
"Up next... we have Giselle Archer with an original that she would like to perform!"
"An original?" Sebastian asked in shock.
"Yeah," I grinned. "I was inspired." I stood up and walked over to the stage. When I got in front of the mic, the prerecorded music began to play.
I close my eyes and I can see
The world that's waiting up for me
That I call my own
Through the dark, through the door
Through where no one's been before
But it feels like home
They can say, they can say it all sounds crazy
They can say, they can say I've lost my mind
I don't care, I don't care, so call me crazy
We can live in a world that we design
'Cause every night I lie in bed
The brightest colors fill my head
A million dreams are keeping me awake
I think of what the world could be
A vision of the one I see
A million dreams is all it's gonna take
A million dreams for the world we're gonna make
There's a house we can build
Every room inside is filled
With things from far away
The special things I compile
Each one there to make you smile
On a rainy day
They can say, they can say it all sounds crazy
They can say, they can say we've lost our minds
I don't care, I don't care if they call us crazy
Runaway to a world that we designI scanned the audience and saw Sebastian just doing that dorky grin and his camera.
Every night I lie in bed
The brightest colors fill my head
A million dreams are keeping me awake
I think of what the world could be
A vision of the one I see
A million dreams is all it's gonna take
A million dreams for the world we're gonna make
However big, however small
Let me be part of it all
Share your dreams with me
You may be right, you may be wrong
But say that you'll bring me along
To the world you see
To the world I close my eyes to see
I close my eyes to seeNot to mention, I was a nervous mess, because I was worried the audience was not going to like the song.
Every night I lie in bed
The brightest colors fill my head
A million dreams are keeping me awake
A million dreams, a million dreams
I think of what the world could be
A vision of the one I see
A million dreams is all it's gonna take
A million dreams for the world we're gonna make
For the world we're gonna makeI finished singing, and the audience roared with applause. I walked off of stage, and sat back down next to Sebastian
"Sebastian Smythe, will you be my date to McKinley High School's Sadie Hawkins Dance?" I asked.
"Of course." He smirked as he kissed me. "When did you get into song writing?" He brought up.
"It was a poem I wrote last summer, but when I sat down at the piano a few days ago, I was inspired." I shrugged.
"This is the reason why you should share your talent." He showed me the video.
