If you want to find out, follow me...My body remains frozen for a moment, his words wrapping around my brain and making their way to my heart making it skip a beat, but I regain my senses as his figure disappears somewhere inside the bus.
I can't miss this chance.
Curiosity fills my being, running through my veins and pushing me forward, getting the best of me and making me follow him into the bus.
With a shake of my head, my hands grip the metal handles, my body pausing at the doors to make sure that he is inside.
And there, at the back of the bus, sits my mysterious person. His face calm and serene as he absentmindedly stares out the window.
A small smile forms on my lips as I quietly make my way over to him, afraid that if I rush, he might disappear, but he doesn't, instead my heart beats faster as I walk closer to him, taking the seat on the opposite side to him, imitating his stance by leaning on the other window, glancing at him from the corner of my eyes a few times.
"You actually followed." He says in a low whisper, slightly in disbelief as if trying to reassure himself, but still loud enough so I could hear him. His voice was so calm and deep, that I first, I almost missed what he said.
"You didn't think I would follow you?" I ask raising a brow, searching face to see what he means, but he quickly explains,
"No, it's not that," he says softly, "I just wasn't sure about how aware of your dreams you are."
"Ah, I see." I say nodding my head with a small hum. "I'm still working on it."
"Same here." He adds.
His words make me pause for a second, making me frown. "This has been on mind lately, but have we met before?" I ask turning my body to face him, but he shakes his head in response.
"I don't think so."
"Then, who are you?"
Before I can say anything else, he adds, "I can't really answer that." He says giving me an apologetic look. "There are some rules."
"Rules?" I repeat and he finally turns to face me, his arms resting on his legs and his brows slightly raised as he looks up at me.
"For example?" I ask leaning closer, curious as to the answer.
"We can't tell each other anything personal." He says and I almost lose my balance trying to hear what he said. He lets out a small chuckle as he helps me back in my seat, but I remain quiet.
As if reading my thoughts he answers, "I've tried before."
"So then, what are we supposed to do?" I ask making eye contact with him.
"I can tell you this, pay attention. There are clues everywhere."
I was about to ask something else, but the dream starts to fade and my eyes snap open.
With a bolt, I turn the light on, squinting as I do so and forgetting that I just woke up and that isn't the best idea at the moment, but my body is moving on its own going in overdrive.
