Harry
Her timing couldn't be any worse.
I pinch the bridge of my nose and screw my eyes shut. "If you're not comfortable with it I'd understand and figure something else..." I cut Jayde off mid sentence. I wouldn't feel right knowing I could help her, the mother of my kids, and leave her without anywhere to go just cause of my feelings or ego.
"No it's fine, I have an extra room you can stay in. I'll be there is about thirty minutes."
"Where'd y'all go?" Her voice goes high and I know exactly where she's getting at.
"The kids are still asleep, I just dropped Jenna off at the airport and we're on our way back to the house now. Do you have the address?"
"Oh, okay. But no I don't have the address."
"Okay, I'll send it to you in about five minutes." Before getting off the phone she thanks me about three more times and hangs up.
Shit.
This can either go one of two ways, and I honestly have no clue which road we're about to take either. Her staying can be dangerous to me, but am I willing to take that risk?
There's only so much that can happen in one night and besides we both have work tomorrow anyway.
"Nope Harry do not think like that, you promised Jen less than an hour ago." I'm having an internal battle within myself and make up all these possible scenarios that could potentially happen. Is it right to think about? Hell no, but at the same time, past how I feel about Jayde in the moment she is a very beautiful and sexy women and I know the things she's capable of doing. Things Jenna knows nothing about and can't do for me like I know Jayde has.
As I pull up to the house a sleek black Lexus pulls up right behind me and parks in the driveway. As I'm unbuckling the kids, I watch as Jayde emerges from her car wearing a pair of black leggings, a low cut long sleeve shirt and some fuzzy slides. Nothing has really changed in the five years.
She spots me in the garage and walks in.
"Hey, thank you so much for letting me stay."
"It's no problem." She rounds the car and gets Preston out of his car seat and seems to be struggling to hold him, her purse and backpack. I'd be a dick of me to watch her struggle, so I walk to where she is and reach from her bags. She looks up to with a smile and shakes her head. "Thank you but I got it Harry." She's being oddly nice especially since the last week or so we haven't been on the best terms.
I reach for them again, and this time she lets them glide off of her arm onto mine. "Thank you." She rolls her eyes but plays a smirk that she doesn't hunk I can see. I lead her into the house and drop her bags on the kitchen counter.
"Harry, shut up." I look over my shoulder and see her eyes wandering all over the place. She glides her hand across the granite counters and looks up at the wine cooler. "So were this bougie now? When did you start drinking wine?" A chuckle escapes my mouth and I look back at her.
"Sometimes I just like to feel a little bougie and act like I'm Olivia Pope." Her mouth drops open with the biggest smile.
"You watch Scandal too? Oh my goodness what have you done to twenty seventeen Harry. The Harry who only drank beer and whiskey and only watched hunting and prank shows." I laugh to myself as I remember back to those days. I was your typical teen who rebelled against everything and refused to do anything.
"Well that Harry realized he had to grow up and wanted to make something of himself. He had to change his ways and wanted luxury and that's exactly what he got." Once we reach the top of the stairs Jayde goes into Aaliyah's room and I go into Preston's room to go put him down.
